If this is the shot, it is an airball, ain't no way that went through, I blew it up and watched close. It was a miss!

Actually I think the Lakers played bad enough that they are going to make some changes and get game 3, but game 4 I think they will lose, then they will realize that they cannot coast to victory. Lakers in 5!

Look man, Magic WAS Showtime and I will ALWAYS love him for that. He is not great as a coach or GM, I will concede that, but I don't like denigrating him over and over for it. Just out of respect for all that he has done for this organization, he gets the nod and benefit of the doubt from me.

He did some things that were not good, no doubt, but he did more things that were really good. He had his fingers in the success of this team, but it is not HIS success. I will give Pelinka his dues. But I don't need to knock Magic down to do so.

For most of us, certainly myself, it's for neither of those. Rather the backstabbing he himself did and literal sabotaging of the organization with his actions out of spite after he abruptly quit. More than once. Ramona's article mentioned Jeanie and Linda having dinner with him even after his quitting and with 40 years of history they had together to air out his true thoughts and he didn't. But the day of Vogel's press conference he went first nationally on ESPN show and trashed the FO and called Rob publicly a backstabber. All this before Rob had to deal with NO and the AD trade and prior to our most important free agency in forever.

Yeah, he screwed up, but the man has 5 rings in our name and he helped us rebuild this roster. He has his problems, but in the end, he has put this organization in a winning position and someday you gotta let go of your hate. He is NOT going to be remembered for his mistakes or for your hate.

magic got lebron. that's all he deserves credit for. i'm not gonna forget the fact that he dealt zubac while on drugs. and he probably could've gotten more for lou

phil? not sure how he had anything to do with this current roster

not sure what you're doing here, wino. you're not agreeing that this team is a credit to his managerial skills, which was what that article was implying (and what a few of us have argued against).

you can love magic and still admit he was a very bad executive. michael jordan is a bad owner. phil jackson was a terrible executive. just facts. doesn't mean they weren't great coaches, players, or nice guys or whatever.

    i'm glad magic's a fan again.

he can be remembered for all 3 phases of his laker career, great legendary player, trash coach and epic fail of a GM that dragged our organization thru the mud

Needs to figure out the spacing here; putting 3-4 guys on one side of the court or just bunched together allowed the Nuggets to build a well

magic is just another example of an all time great player who turned out to be a sh*t coach and executive

west is one of the few exceptions. in fact, i'd say he was an even better exec than he was a player

Series is playing out about how I expected. Nuggets aren’t going to roll over but I think last nights win was big because we were able to get a win without playing our best and AD’s confidence as a closer has to be sky high.

I originally said 6, but we might be able to wrap it up in 5.

If we win in 4 or 5 we are truly building one of the great playoff runs in history especially given everything going on. The team, fans, and city need this.

Perfect way to honor Kobe’s memory.

Honestly, I think people are too centered on the things he did wrong. It's over and it is in the past and despite what anyone feels, it did not really do us harm. In fact I would say he actually did more good for us while GM than bad. I say that because we got Lebron and that led to Davis and led to us playing for a ring. Never would have happened without Magic working with Lebron on that vision.

But all I hardly ever hear is Magic sucks. I think it is better to remember the good things and forgive him for the dumb things.

Nit picking I keep seeing "GM". Of course that was Rob and Magic was (absentee ;)) President.

That's why I ultimately give Rob the credit. He deserves the credit because he stuck it out and I suspect he worked harder.

As Nick Wright has warned, the narrative will quickly turn from "the Lakers cannot possibly win a championship" to "LeBron had the easiest route to a championship ever".
