Yeah, that's the thing for me. Upshaw is a top 10 talent. IF big IF he gets his head on straight, then we walk out of the draft with 2 of the 10 best players and one who is strongest where Okafor is weakest.

I'd just like to see him in a workout. Maybe we can get Ronnie Price to come down and guard him a bit.

He won't. Nevertheless, Mitch will look at EVERYBODY, and that's okay. We'll take one of the centers unless there's an absolutely can't miss prospect that has a Kobe like workout from 96 because that's what it will take right now even discuss anybody else other than Okafor/Towns as a possibility.

It says he talked to LB some before the lottery results, so I'm guessing he was our pre-workout favorite for the #4 slot...where Mitch expected to be drafting. A lot changes at #2 when you have either KAT or Okafor there. Can't pass on them. Even if we had only moved up to the #3 spot, I'd probably still take Mudiay here. Mitch doing due diligence.

    What about lower body strength?

    That's awesome upper body strength.

He gets to about the 12-13 second mark before his form starts to break down because his core/legs aren't strong enough to support him in that squated position for that long.

He looks tall enough that if he fell backwards his head would get run over by a car.

Few more LB quotes regarding Mudiay.

Come on over when your contract with Philly/NY is over. Kobe still won't be on the roster, but I'm sure he'll be around in some capacity or another, even if it's unofficial.

I think NY would be dumb not to take him. But the triangle has never worked with a ball dominant PG. Even though he was a shadow of his former self, it was a monumental failure with GP. So that would be Fish's first real test as a head coach, see if he can make the triangle work with a modern day PG because Phil couldn't figure it out.

    Upshaw stats:

The 2013-14 Huskies were 17-15. They lost their leading rebounder after the season.
They were 14-5 in the 19 games Upshaw played.
After he was dismissed they went 2-10. His DRtg was 91.4. The next best among anyone who played at least 10 minutes on his team was 101.8.

He was a massive difference maker.

Did you ever take a look at Clarkson's legs, Real? He had a skinny upper body when he came into the league; but his legs always seemed like they could support a bigger upper body.

But that's not the issue with him. No one is denying his talent, they're skeptical about his brain power. He's been kicked out of two programs for whatever reason. There's got to be some reason why a team like the Huskies who clearly needed him, kicked him out anyway.

Never went too much into Clarkson physically honestly. I haven't seen any underlying problems I guess so it hasn't really crossed my mind. I'll look into it later tonight and see if there's anything that catches my eye.

He's a good example though of how a thinner person isn't necessarily at greater risk as long as they move properly.

I didn't say you were denying his talent. I want it to be clear what a difference he made. I bet many people don't know much about him, as he played only 40 games over three seasons.

I think "brain power" isn't a good way to put it. People have unreasonable prejudices against drugs. It's a risk, but everything is a risk in this world.

No, I don't see any problems at all. I mean it's a good thing; he seems to have a very good base/core. I mentioned this once, but I'll do it again. Afflalo, who's a big 2 guard tried to back down Clarkson in the post, but he couldn't move him (Clarkson). I started paying attention to Clarkson's legs. He has a very good base, IMO.

JC has thicker calves; they stood out to me in those preseason drills he was doing. Not sure about his thighs off hand. Pause.

Yeah..... Dude! You may be going 1 or 2 and I never played beyond high school...... but seriously ask yourself when standing in front of a full length mirror with shorts on...... do you feel lucky, Punk? Errrr...... no, not you Punk here, and you, Karl....I mean [IMG] , do you feel lucky about your chances to avoid injuries with those legs looking not all that "husky"? Come on let's see some squats, lower body plyometrics ..... something to show that you get it.

    Sincerely

    High school scrub
