exactly and I think he can develop into that kind of guy for us. He would be a stronger built body type and Ariza though.

Just saw two mocks with us taking Upshaw at #27. That's the first time I've seen that, and I love it.

Phil up to his old tricks. One trick pony? This line jumped right out. I don't believe it's true or would he still draft just for the triangle?

"A source tells News that Phil Jackson thinks Trey Lyles would be good fit for triangle offense."

It is pretty clear that Phil thought the team underachieved the prior season, which is what a lot of people thought. He thought he could fix a chemistry issue by trading a guy who didn't get along with Melo, and didn't fit the triangle, for a of who would fit the triangle. And he figured he could get by defensively with Dalembert. He figured the triangle would get all the guys on the same page. So he dumped his best asset outside of Melo for below market value, retained guys who he would have surely dumped for a pure tank, and figured he, through fisher, would pull them all together and get back in the playoffs. Good times in New York.

This last (?) stop is not going to end well and put a big black mark on Phil's resume. Dolan being who he's always been will guarantee it. And it will add fuel to the fire of Phil's critics who have maintained it was more about the generational, individual talents he was fortunate to have on all those championship teams, than it was about him and the Triangle. Not a completely accurate take, for sure, but there's definitely something there. His management and methods with all those huge egos and eccentric personalities of course played a huge part in his success.

Fun fact, I lent this guy a pencil during a final exam a few years ago. Yes, he showed up to the final exam without a pencil. :D

Great story. What's more amazing to me is that he actually showed up to take an exam.

stuff like this is tough for me to watch. Can't get too attached to these prospects because who knows yet what Minny is going to do. But thanks for posting this.

Jahlil uses Speed Stick Gear. Who knew? [IMG] Come on Jahlil..... no workee out for MN ..... work out for Lakers instead. Show that KAT ..... don't let him punk you. Plus then you can have the obligatory chip on your shoulder for having been dissed and chosen 2nd in the draft, even if you wanted to be 2nd. [IMG] Karl has Karlito on his shoulder.

If the Lakers were to draft Okafor or Towns - I could see them looking at Upshaw if he's on the board at 34 - not sure at 27

Damn, that's higher than we can reach with a trade (without adding players). We need one of them to drop to the early 20s.
