I can’t stand Nash after he screwed us over. Are we still paying this guy or is that finally over?

No one screwed the Lakers worse than David Stern. He destroyed his flagship franchise to socialize the league after the other owners, who were eating s***, were appeased.

Lakers would have won another title with Kobe had he got Chris Paul in his prime. They were patching up after the veto everywhere they could but that veto was the back breaker.

Yep, which is why I could not stand Stern, despite the good things he did for the league, he was screwing us because the other owners wanted him to. It wasn't right then and it still isn't. In my mind it will always reduce his stature and importance to me.

That isn't happening without including PG; so, in other words, it isn't happening.

We just don't want him in Golden State.

Bucks, 6ers, and Knicks could make a run at CP3.

He was huge for OKC this year and can still get it done, but that's a lot of money to shell out for a 3rd option. Could be a stabilizing force for the Bucks. Don't think he would push Philly overthe Bucks, Raptors, Cs, or Heat. And anything the Knicks do, I'm skeptical of.

That's the scary one. We'll soon learn whether he's a Dame or a Durant.

You want him surrounded by shooters and if you put him next to two of the best five (at the very worst) shooters in the league, I don't know how you stop that.

Cp3 was healthy (for the first time in a looooong time) which means, he'll get injured next PO 100%.
That being said, OKC gm needs a raise. Got rid of Westbrook and now will get serious assets from some desperate team for an old and overpaid, always injured flopper. Genius.

If by genius you mean: Lost Ibaka and lost James Harden because he overpaid Kendrick Perkins, lost franchise player Kevin Durant to free agency, lost PG to snake Kawhi Leonard, lost other franchise player Westbrook after losing PG his paintball buddy, and lost National Basketball Coaches Association's co-coach of the year Billy Donovan after a pretty remarkable and improbable run this year.

He most def regrets losing KD. Others... not so much. Harden and Paulina will never win anything and trading Westbrook with that contract was a great move.

Why? The Clippers have no honor.

They’d tell their mother she’s not getting traded at noon and be packing her bags at 1:00.

They have no picks to send out, because they got robbed by OKC. Who will they trade, aside from George? Young players, prospects, what?

yeah, presti's a huge mixed bag. it was really ibaka's deal that cost them harden. it was clear at the time that he was overpaid and that it meant harden couldn't stay. ibaka's trade value was as high as harden's then, and they could have really made noise. just terrible.

they recovered nicely from some other mistakes, but they were still mistakes. it looks good that they traded PG for unprovens and russ for cp and then were basically a better team, but paul's deal is terrifying paired with his health record. and SGA isn't a prize, imo, nor are a bunch of clippers picks while they employ leonard and have the deepest-pocketed owner in the nba.

so, could it be worse in okc? sure. but i won't be hiring that dude any time soon.

eh, houston keeps picking up stars with basically nothing to offer. the players still have a lot of leverage--especially with one year left on their deal. stranger things have happened. but yeah, i think george would have to go in such a deal.

let's beat houston, then beat the clippers, then let giannis think about competing in the P&G.

Honestly, don't think he would be the best fit here. Hard to imagine he and Davis trying to play with Lebron. Davis benefits from being able to have the middle when he wants it. He wants a wide open environment for his offense to flourish. I worry that Giannis would be in Davis' way. Sounds weird, but at this point, with Lebron driving the lane all the time and AD having such a great inside/outside game, not sure Giannis would maximize them. If he had a solid outside game, I would not be concerned at all. If he was a more practical center type, then he could simply take over from Howard and McGee while being better. Not sure he would like that fit. I would rather see us go after a really solid PG, if possible.

"The L.A. Clippers have acquired six-time NBA All-Star Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, forward Danilo Gallinari and the Clippers’ first round draft picks in 2022, 2024 and 2026, along with two first-round choices via Miami (2021 and 2023), and OKC obtained the right to swap first-round picks in 2023 and 2025, it was announced today by President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank."

They don't have draft capital anymore to pair with a Paul George deal...

And after you invested trading all the draft capital and a a very nice prospect listed above, you're in to deep to just "move on..."

I think Giannis leaves Milwaukee, though. I just don't know where...

i mean, you take the two-time mvp and then figure out the rest, tbh. it's not an ideal fit, no. but imagine the defense alone. find a couple shooters (even if they have almost no other talents), and you can win.

True that. No need to get cute... same with draft. Just ask Portland and their concerns about the Glide - MJ fit :D
