This is cool, I wasn’t sure the scrimmages were going to be televised at all.

I'm excited. I needed something positive and the Lakers return hopefully delivers that.

I wonder if they are going to look like NBA players or people who have been sitting on the couch for four months

    or some of both maybe

zion had to leave the bubble for personal reasons

i bet they'll secretly waive his mandatory quarantine since they're trying so hard to get him in the playoffs

The weird thing to me is, they don’t need Zion. Pelicans will likely make the playoffs next season during more normal circumstances, and they’ll get ratings from him then. THIS playoffs though, people are already sports starved, they’re probably going to get record ratings because the majority of people are still home and because it’s a form of NBA ball. They don’t need Zion for a boost right now, people are going to watch.

    We’ll see.

i’m sure I’ll at least look at box scores

    maybe highlights

The funny thing is after a certain amount of time away, you can be thankful for the reclaimed time and find you have better things to do with your spare time.

Lakers basketball or any team sport you follow can become somewhat of an obsession and take way too much time. After becoming a father, I chose to only follow one sport a year and mine was NBA basketball so I wouldn’t be the dad year round glued to the TV. But dang, NBA is a 9 month gig.

The joy is sucked out a little bit right now, but I’m sure it will return in time.

guessing i'll get sucked in a bit, but i've barely thought about the nba since march. it seems really silly right now--not that it hasn't the entire time, but even moreso now.

on a lighter note, i saw AD on a chip bag in my convenience store. #lakerbump

I don't know what you guys are smoking. I'm a working father of two little girls but I still LIVE for Laker basketball. I am DYING to see our guys play the Clippers on the 30th and have been counting down the days ever since it was announced.

Yeah, find it hard to follow all sports. I used to back in the 60s and 70s, when I was a child. But for me, when my Rams team was taken over by Georgia Frontiere and she messed with all our players and then when the media started to apply the heat, she up and moved the team to St Louis. ??? I was done and I have never gone back. Rams are just another team. The only time I watch football is on occasion when there are two monster teams that play each other or the Superbowl. Baseball, I was a Dodger fan for years. Followed them through the Koufax, Drysdale era and then the Garvey, Buckner era. Great teams, great FO. Then they sold off to Frank McCourt, it took a couple of years but I lost interest. Teams like the Padres and Angels never interested me much because they seemed more interested in selling hot dogs and bobble heads than in winning.

All I ask for from any team that I root for is that they truly want to win and will do everything in their means to do that. This is why I hated Jimmy Buss, he just did too many stupid things that were not designed to win. Honestly, to this day, I don't know what the heck he was doing. That signing of Mozgov and Deng was one of the worst decisions I have ever seen on a Lakers team. When you look at the trajectory that Jeannie was built off of the hole that Jimmy put us in, it is impressive. Not only did she FIX all his mistakes but she hired the right people around her and built a winning culture. Mistakes like Jimmy made can put a franchise down the tube for 20 years, if you don't have the smarts to retool and make all the right moves. Plus she did all this while half the media and fan base was dissing her and doubting every move she made. Yet here we are, one of the 3 top teams favored to win it all. This is why I have been a Lakers fan for life.
