All you have to do is look at who advertises for these media companies. Big pharma.

Hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin are generic drugs. Remdesivir is a patented drug.

Trump's interest in the generic drugs is simple. It's election season. The generic drugs appear to work, they're old drugs whose side-effects are well understood by doctors, can be used now (unlike vaccines which are a year away), and are cheaper for voters during an election year than a new patented drug.

Here we go ... a big flaming arrow like in the movies .... in the quiver for treating and trying to keep alive covid-19 patients. Just saw this on local 6pm L.A CBS News that JPL in La Canada has used their literal “rocket scientist” smarts to come up with a new working ventilator for 1/10th the cost of existing designs and with something like only 100 moving parts. Easy to mass produce (I think I heard). And most of the genius work was done from the engineers remotely with just the assemblers on site. Really smart people for the win!

Did we ever shut down the economy during recent high severity flu seasons?

We're comparing contagiousness of the flu with vaccinations available to covid-19?

Social distancing + masks + gloves is one thing. Shelter-in-place and locking down the economy is another.

Too bad we have the anti vaccination radicals (for when and IF we get a vaccine) now adding to the "don't tread on me" crowds out there protesting and mobbing together not taking that seriously. Not a come back to you revgen. I understand what you are saying. But if this s*** keeps spiking because of these idiots and the health care professionals get overwhelmed we're in even deeper doodoo. Rock and a hard place the nation's collective nuts and nipples are between for sure. Thanks for all those flights out China, while you were locking those areas down yourself.

    #tinfoilin'

Hoping heard immunity even amongst the stupid maybe starts having an effect while we wait for better treatments and a big data, AI assisted and fast tracked vaccine to be approved and produced in mass quantities. Leapfrogging old records by MANY months.

If the recent USC study is true, then herd immunity may already be occurring. But there are also anecdotal reports of reinfection. Conflicting information makes it difficult to know what's really going on.
