Karl Anthony Towns mother, Jackie, has died after a battle with COVID-19.

Noordin Said, a beloved security official to NBA players and numerous musical artists, died Tuesday in New York after contracting COVID-19, his daughter confirmed to Yahoo Sports.

Said’s mother, Anezia Clemons, who lived with him in New York, also died from COVID-19 approximately seven hours before her 56-year-old son, who died at 1:32 a.m. ET on Tuesday.

Damn. So almost a month to get prepared just to play? I can't imagine they have more regular season games if they are going that route. To ask a team like the Timberwolves to train for 25 days just to play 4-5 games? That seems pointless. Maybe they revamp the schedule to have only the top 10 teams from each conference play 5 more games to give teams battling for a playoff spot a shot at grabbing one, and to sort out the seeding?

Even if it seems pointless for a lower seed team to come back and get bounced, I'm sure everyone is still eager to play 5 on 5 basketball again. Plus with a quick "return" to the season and likely shorter playoffs, there's a much greater chance for upsets.

Little drastic. Nothing has changed business wise and health wise. Only sports has been the negative. People will be fine.

I'm all for giving these guys a few games to get back into a rhythm, but I'd still limit it to the playoff teams. The Wizards are 5 losses back, and the Blazers are 4 losses back. They had their chance, and they have losing records. Why waste their and everyone else's time?

Get the 16 playoff teams together, do a 4-5 game warm-up, games won't count towards anything, and then get going.

A lot has changed business-wise for a lot of people. A lot of people have no business to speak of at this point.

It's weird. I always thought it would be awesome to work from home. But I miss hanging out at work with my friends. We have an open workspace and spend half the day shooting the s***.

The league could just lie to me and say basketball's coming back and that would carry me for weeks.

Great news. I'm still optimistic that they can figure this out. There's too much at stake not to, I believe. Caveat, it will have to happen without fans in the stands though, IMO.

I'd love to watch some NBA basketball again. Yes, it's strange without the fans in the stands, but I'd go for anything at this point.

As a Laker fan this is frustrating, we were almost there.
Supposedly they're gonna start opening up states again, after a few protests have been happening.

A rested LeBron is exactly what we need going back into the remainder of the NBA season.

I honestly don't see any team beating us in the playoffs.
