the forum is strictly a concert venue. would not be able to host bball

also, the la memorial sports arena where the clips used to play was demolished a few years ago and replaced by a soccer stadium where that other LA mls team plays

can't see it because you probably don't want to be in highly populated areas.

I don't buy into the population density argument for containing spread. What matters more is how people transport.

In SoCal, most people drive in their own cars. Sure, there are some do public transit, but cars are how it's done here. Your best chance of getting COVID-19 is at a gas pump or at LAX. Since NBA players take private charter jets, and have a private bus taking them to the empty arena and back to the hotel, I doubt they'll be in anymore significant danger than they would be in Vegas.

Why couldn’t the forum host basketball. These games would be played with zero fans in attendance. Pretty sure you can construct a basketball court almost anywhere that has the space for it. If these playoffs even happen it’s going to be weird as hell seeing games with no fans. It’s like pickup playoff basketball, we will truly learn once and for all if refs are influenced by home crowds and if role players and and momentum is fed off of crowd noise as well. No matter what, even if we won, this title will need an asterisk next to it, sorry, it just would.

I feel for Ox. This has to be devastating for him.

Kidding aside, I hope she recovers. She's one of the few people working for BSPN that I can stand listening to.

Also can't use the training facility. The camera setups would be all off. Wouldn't look familiar.

the only problem is that every major city that would be able to handle this has been hit hard by CV

Yeah, but I think the “bubble” aspect of it is what accomplishes the goal. It’s not about finding a Corona-free city. It’s about quarantining the league so they can all interact with each other without spreading the virus.

Yeah. I walked into Circus Circus one time on a dare and immediately broke out in a rash that stayed with me for 6 months.

Wimbledon is canceled. Doesn't bode well for the NBA since the Wimbledon is essentially the first two weeks of July. Then again, the All England Club made clear they would not go forward without fans in attendance, and that's not a prereq for the NBA.

Wimbledon also never started. The NBA is basically almost to the playoffs. It'd be flushing a lot of games down the toilet. Wimbledon doesn't have that issue.
