I've watched the trailer a couple of times and just can't seem to get excited about it.I'm surprised by the great reviews your saying its getting.
I posted this in another thread in the suggestions part of this forum but I guess it should go here instead. I am really excited about this upcoming movie, American Sniper, which just released its first trailer:
Equalizer was actually pretty good. Pretty much the title explains it all. Want to see Annabelle. I loved The Insidious movies, The Conjouring, and I'm sure I'll like this new horror flick. Lets be Cops was just awful.
I didn't like Equalizer. It started off good then all of a sudden it takes this different turn and I just couldn't take it. Spoiler So a 60 year old retired CIA agent or whatever he was is capable of taking down one of the richest, most powerful, most influential crime lords in the world single-handed? If one retired CIA agent is able to do that, then the CIA should have cleaned out 100% of crime by now. It could have just pushed the boundaries like Taken (the first one) did, but instead it just embraced those boundaries and then threw 'em in a pit.
Any great action movies I might not have seen on Netflix? I feel like I've seen most of the movies I'd ever want to watch. I've been going through the IMDB most popular movies by year lists and have been building up a catalog of those, but I just haven't been able to find many movies I'm interested in lately. I've seen The Usual Suspects, Reservoir Dogs, The Untouchables and many of the bigger classics on there, but I know there has to be some great ones I've not yet seen.
The Judge was really good. RDJ will probably be up for some awards. A few plot twists. They definitely tried to pull on the heart strings. Not as good as the Equalizer or Gone Girl, but worth checking out.
I will recomend you few films...but you need to have open mind and not to reject it immediately becouse it is foreign movie... i am big asian cinema fan( specialy the korean movies) but this one is from indonesia... It is called Raid redemption and the sequal Raid 2... They are mentioned as the best action movies in last 10 years...and i have to agree... The movies are bloody and fighting choreography is just amazing...for me right now Iko Uwais has taken place from Tony Jaa as the best fighting action star in the world...
The Raid is maybe one of the best action movies I've ever seen. Extremely creative, very fun, and very very violent. If you like kung-fu movies, go watch it. It's fantastic.
coincidentally i watched the raid for the first time a few weeks ago. possibly some of the best choreographed martial arts fight scenes. just brutal. got raid 2 sitting somewhere but haven't got around to that one yet.
it is definetly better than the first... in second one, the first scene, bathroom fight is great...and every next one is better than the previous one...which is amazing...it just goes better and better...and it was made for only 4mil (take the notes hollywood)...
I watched Blue Ruin the other day on Netflix. Pretty cool revenge action movie. Nothing too crazy in terms of the plot, but it felt grounded in reality and had some cool cinematography.
Hard to execute the finale of that book in the movie. Read just Part 3 of the book and it'll make more sense/feel more complete.
I watched the American version of Old Boy ... man was it bad. I walked out onto my balcony with a glass of whiskey and a cigar and just sat there about half way into the movie. The 2003 Korean version is much better. I have The Raid 2 sitting at home as well. I loved the first but was skeptical of the second mostly because sequels aren't as good. But now I am really excited!
