At this point, this should qualify as a political issue. It's inevitable this will hit America and affect our economy negatively. If you guys have any interesting reports or information, please post them here! Everyone, stay safe. It's going to be a brutal few months so stock up on food, medication, toiletries, etc., Don't wait and get your stuff NOW!

I believe the quarantines, if any are imposed, will be worse than the disease itself. Shutting off or interfering with supply chains is never good. So you should definitely stock up on food, medicine, toiletries, etc just to avoid the rush.

I’m headed to Asia next week, and I’m fully expecting to get quarantined and die while there.

Damn... should cancel it bro. Not worth the risk. If not, stay safe. It's human-to-human contact primarily so avoid people you don't have to get into contact with.

Who’s going to make our gifs then? Unacceptable risk you can’t go.

But I’m meeting my future wife, so it’s a risk I’ve got to take.

We booked a family vacation to Vietnam for March 26 before the outbreak. We’re obviously canceling, but the airlines are charging a $200/ticket cancellation fee. Trips to mainland China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Philippeans get a full refund. Hopefully Vietnam is added to their list in the next few weeks. If not, I’m pissed.

Wow, almost a month in advance you cancel and they still want to hit you for $200 cancellation fee? That doesn't seem right. Which airlines?

Vietnam was super fun. I hope to go back soon but that is a complete bummer that airlines aren't offering a full refund in a situation like this. Have you tried contacting your credit card provider (if you used one)?

In other news, China reports that there are more "recovered" patients than sick. Who knows how funky their data is... Probably another lie so they can ramp up production and get people to work again. The stock market is up the highest points in a single day. Rough last week but probably a dead cat bounce. This coronavirus will hit USA quickly and then the stock market will continue going into a bear market. My local Costco was too packed on the weekends so I plan on going on Wednesday instead. Water, rice, beans, and pasta were all low in quantity. It has hit NYC so for those who are in this area, don't touch people who you shouldn't. Wear some disposable gloves in the subways. Don't touch your face unless you have washed your hands.

That’s a great idea! Thanks! Amex is great. They once refunded items stolen by porch pirates, no questions asked.

I really like Eva Air. Hope they change the policy if things hit there. I’m in the Philippines now, and I didn’t know it was even an option to cancel when I arrived in the last week.

I already stocked firewood for your funeral pyre where I shoot an arrow towards your floating coffin down river. It will be emotional:Jacksnicker:
