The NBA is essentially making us throw a game, in what I’m sure will be a tight West race, against a team we will be needing to either stay ahead of or try and pass. Essentially we will have to sit our starters in one of the other games to try and win this one, or just throw this one, which could have big implications if we can’t split the season series with the Clippers. We’re being punished for taking a game off because of the Kobe tragedy, it’s pretty messed up.
Indeed. Well, Clippers also have to rest their starters or risk injury and you know what that word means for their stars. We should see what they do in the two games before this one.
The league is hoping that the Lakers will sit their players vs the Warriors instead. I think we should play the Clippers. We shouldn't run from them. This will be a good test for us.
Man the Clipper have some serious garbage people on their roster, I don’t know how you can root for that.
Haha. The Clippers lost to the Kings. Kawhi "The Klaw" Leonard had a -12 net rating... worst on his team! Their roster is never healthy. Can PG/Kawhi handle playing a seven game series vs the Rockets/Nuggets/Utah/Dallas and then be ready to face the Lakers? I just saw what P.Patterson wrote on Instagram. This dude is a loser! I hope Dwight Howard decks this idiot in the mouth. I know the Lakers will pay the fine. This piece of trash will likely be on the bench anyways. Why is he so upset? He's just another scrub who is getting paid to do nothing.
Looks like they are trying to replicate what Houston is trying to do? Other them keeping them from the Lakers, Morris and Jackson don't really add anything for them. They still are undersized at the 4/5 and have no real rim protection. By adding duplicates of what they already have, however, they can do that 5 shooter lineups that Houston is going with I guess. The difference is that Houston just keeps the ball in Westbrook and Harden and everyone else play around them as catch and shooter. The Clips look like they have too many guys who want to the ball rather than play off the ball.
marcus morris went 3-9 with 6 points in 30+ minutes. if his name rhymed with nyle nuzma, we'd have the pitchforks out.
It’s weird. If only anyone here could have predicted this would happen and not been freaking out when we didn’t trade 2-3 guys for Marcus.
Furthermore, Morris is averaging 9.75 ppg since coming to the LA Loadmanagers while playing the same amount of minutes he played in NY. Always thought his 19 ppg with the Knicks was fool’s gold because he scored a lot of those points in mop up time when they were getting blown out.
Not even what many of us were saying. Morris will help them vs the Lakers because LeBron will have another player who he has to guard/defend at all times.
Yeah that’s not really the argument people were making, and Morris really isn’t difficult to guard. This is revisionist history.
You might want to go review the history then. Not difficult to guard? He's one of the best at making threes. You can't double Kawhi and leave Morris wide open. You could have done that with Mo Harkless all day and dare him to score. Please learn the difference. Basketball is all about matchups.
He makes 3s. Not good off the dribble or in the post. I call that pretty easy to guard. I’d rather Morris shoot the ball than Kawhi, PG, or Lou. That’s knowing your matchups. Please stop with the condescending gibberish when you can’t comprehend what others are saying.
Agreed. The A-F grading comparison of their strengths and weaknesses and various skills indicates Markieff does a number of key things better and that we actually picked up the better player. Couple pages back.
