The only thing with Afflalo has been injuries. He's as solid a role player as you could ask for. I'd put a call in and see what kind of offers he's getting. If we can get him at a bargain, I'm willing to talk. But I've got to say I'm so sick of injuries that I'm not sure I'd pick up a guy who is known for getting hurt every year. Not unless they're a real stud type of player.
wonder what afflalo's market will be. he's on the downswing, and getting near the age where the bottom falls out completely on these wings. it would have to be low money for me, because he's a risk at this point. isn't he a hometown guy? maybe that will help.
I wanted him pre trade deadline because of what he was scheduled to make this year. But hes more of a sg and I havw a feeling this isnt kobes last year.
Byron and me both. Big roster churn. Exciting improvements. Keeping our pick and having it come up #2 blew our opportunities wide open. Just like that .... no more "beat downs" by the g-dammed Clippers. Likely transformation IMO.
I don't want to get my hopes too high. If we trade our later 2 picks to move up in the draft or something like that, we could be looking at Okafor, Randle, Clarkson, Black, maybe a rookie wing, and Kelly as major rotation players. That's half our roster and 6 of our top 9 with less than 3 years experience. We still would likely get beat down by the Clippers a couple times if DJ stays and they solve their sf problem. Will it be exciting to watch them grow? Yes. But we are going to be sooooo young that expecting to all of a sudden be hanging with the Clippers and competing with the league's best is a little too much optimism. If we want to hang with the Clippers next season, we're going to be moving picks for veterans and nailing stuff in free agency. And I'm talking a miracle like Butler or Leonard.
I'm thinking (& hoping) that the Lakers have at least three veterans on the team to go along with the young core.. Kobe + 2FA
Yeah there's little chance that we both keep those picks AND have them as rotation players right away. I've got to imagine we spend our FA cash on solid veterans. Carroll and Green come to mind right now about as players who would be great additions to a young cast.
Marc Stein✔@ESPNSteinLine And I'm hearing teams have indeed begun to inquire about availability of Mason Plumlee based on belief Nets willing to move young big man $1,415,520 $2,328,530$3,371,712; contract for the next 3 years with a qualify offer his last year; big guy, capable defender, etc. Any interest?

LOL. It will be interesting to see whether the FO goes after the name (Love) or the guy we actually need (Carroll).
