Man I don't know. Is he knowledgeable and knows his stuff? Is he a good enough media personality as well? Who woulda thunk it how we hated him and his thuggish ways plus always looking mad because he was constipated. Amirite?

But for effort alone .... hell yeah I've always liked Perkins!

More of the running joke of:

    • Person compliments your team or players on your team
    • Followed by “Always liked that guy”

When is Zach a FA? He would be a nice third piece.

Zach is of interest to me.

So is Dinwiddie and Myles Turner.

feel like lavine's a hair away from being salary dumped. i agree that if he's not the focal point, things might change, but if he's your best player, you're terrible. i know this will start a holy war again, but i view lavine like ingram in some ways. he's efficient. he puts up numbers. but his team doesn't seem to do well when it's happening. you say: maybe if he's your third-best player...but i say: maybe he can't play in that role.

come to think of it, randle's like that, too. big numbers, decent efficiency--until you ask him to be part of a winning strategy.

    But at 22 there's a dramatic difference

    https://www.basketball-reference.co...gram&y2=2020&player_id2=ingrabr01&idx=players

It's not a holy war because we're not trading Ingram for Zach

Zach is obviously a superior athlete but if this season isn't a fluke from Ingram then they aren't even close as players

Ingram rebounds more, passes better, shooting more efficiently at the same age

Zach has that Kuzma like confidence and bravado that many like. He talks big while Ingram mumbles.

Sometimes you need that from a player... but in terms of efficiency they aren't close at 22.

Why aren’t the Lakers taking a look at Evan Turner either?

He would be fine as a option at SF off the bench who is capable of handling the ball.

I agree with both you and abeer. Lavine actually strikes me more as Kuzma. I bet if Kuzma was on the Bulls and was the second or even first option, he'd be doing Lavine type things.

But like abeer said, until Ingram's stats start turning into wins, I'm not sold on him. His stats have also taken a bit of a hit since Zion came into the fray. That would have been his problem here as well. Maybe even more so since him and Lebron's games overlap so much. I wish we could have kept him, but right now, we won that trade. It may turn out we don't if we don't win the championship this year and Ingram turns into a top 10 player next season. But that trade like most can't be evaluated after half of one season.

    well, i meant now:

    https://www.basketball-reference.co...t=Brandon+Ingram&player_id2=ingrabr01&y2=2020

i think assuming continuous upward trajectories in the face of years of contrary evidence is dangerous. and i think lavine and ingram look VERY similar right now.

i actually disagree. i don't think kuz could put up huge scoring numbers as a #1. his ballhandling and pull up game isn't strong enough. that doesn't mean he can't be useful in other roles, though.

and to the original point: if a player thrives in conditions where his team doesn't...what does that mean?

i won't go back into it, but i don't think title or bust is a reasonable stance. we went from doormat to contender. it's over. we won. we weren't going to contend otherwise. the lebron/AD plan is and was the right one, always.

zion being the next lebron has NOTHING to do with what happened before that. nothing. i can't stress this enough. and it's clear that only zion being the next lebron will lead to NO being in a good spot going forward. because ingram as lebron was looking...basically like it did here.
