Shoot Saunders a heads up and remind him of that. Who needs a 7' 270lb post playing beast pissed off at them if they draft Okafor when he doesn't want to be there.

"Pek" might trash his office. [IMG]

Amare did say Pek was the strongest dude in the league.

There's no doubt about that. You don't want to mess with that guy. However, I find this funny:

Or...do they try and go the Golden State route and build small?

They are already paying Pek $12M a year. They can try and do a Curry/Thompson with Rubio/Russell.

Very interesting thought. That would definitely spoil Philly's plans. If I were a betting man though, I'm pretty sure Minny is going to go big, and Towns is the best fit for them to work with Pek. That's just my guess.

But I do wonder what we'd do if they chose Russell. Would we go Towns or Okafor?

How about "toughness" between Towns and Okafor? Anyone that saw a number of each of their games have any opinion if one is more willing if need be to bang in the post with the big boys when it gets chippy? Like I remember with Marc Gasol only a couple years into the league it was said he had a little nasty to his game. Zach of course too. Pek as mentioned. Or do you expect similar competitiveness and toughness from them both?

Here is one of the only mocks I've seen recently that has the Wolves selecting Okafor instead of Towns. While it's likely going to come down to the individual workouts/interviews, it seems the vast majority expects Towns to go to the Wolves and Jah to the Lakers. If the Wolves throw a curveball and take Russell I think the Lakers would take Towns, but again it depends on workouts which will start up on Tuesday and Thursday this week.

Yeah and didn't Pek have some recent (this season) comment about thinking they should allow a little fighting like in the NHL? LMFAO. Sure, easy for you to say "Big Guy". Watch it ..... Zach "I'm good with my hands" Randolph might take you up on that. How's your defense? [IMG]

I've checked 13 mocks so far; I've seen Okafor taken first in only 1.

I'll be thrilled with either one, I can't believe we are even in this position. My vote is for Okafor though, he's just so big and I see so much potential there, a true Center in a league with so few.

They could ask for our second round pick and say, you choose first. Just to get the pressure off of being wrong:giggle:

I voted for and said before I prefer Jah. Having said that, though it seems like a cop out, this is the year where you can be happy with either. Skill wise and overall game, they are so close. The one thing that might push me over to KAT's side is the FTs. You just don't find guys like him (and Bynum) who have that smooth of a stroke too often. And guys who put up the %s like Jah don't usually get much better, although there are exceptions. Just get super nervous about Hack-a-Shaq part 2. But I'm optimistic that Jah would work hard on that aspect of his game.

Zach Lowe's latest piece makes a great argument for the return of the post-up game, with that caveat that the post-up player has to be a fantastic passer in order to pull it off. He also argues that the new breed of stretch 4's need to be able to not just catch and shoot, but catch and create off the bounce, make accurate reads of defensive rotations, and still be able to take smaller player inside and punish them. Even though he only mentions Okafor once and Randle not at all, it's almost as though he was explaining how their partnership could work, at least on the offensive end.

    It's worth a read: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/w...he-nba-post-up-game-to-bring-you-its-rebirth/

I would offer an assistant coaching job to Nash, for Clarkson, Randle and Okafor and other rookies who might come, just to teach them shooting and passing.
