Pulling what receipts? That people tried to enjoy a good season while you warned of the coming non-title apocalypse?

Not too happy with the win against GS.

They so easily dropped 120 on us and actually came back with a team full of scrubs.

Good defensive performances have become a rarity for this team. Right now they don't look like a favorite. The Bucks look just waaaayyyy better right now.

The Clippers haven't been great either but they have legit excuses. We don't.

What’s the legit excuse for the Clippers losing to the TWolves by 27 with all of their stars playing?

Their stars have barely played together, they still have chemistry issues.

Also Beverley and Morris were out.

But my excuse for the Clippers is generally lack of chemistry and too much load management.

Not saying that they looked great. They have not. It was an embarrassing loss. But they don't have to prove their toughness, the Lakers do.

The Clippers know what they can be, they just need to get there. They know their closer, their starting 5, their leaders off the bench, their defensive potential (although it's not been as good as advertised).

The Lakers don't know what they can be, they don't know whether they can close games and who to rely on...whether they can defend or not, whether they have a bench or not...

I appreciate your response, though I personally disagree with your take on the Lakers identity. You may end up being right so I’m not trying to make this a right or wrong scenario. I think they know what they can be and Lebron has proven he can flip the figurative switch in the playoffs. I genuinely think he’s pacing himself and AD is picking his spots because the shoulder injury was and is very real and isn’t going away during the season. Maybe that next gear isn’t what it used to be anymore and we get bounced in the playoffs, but I feel confident that we can get to the WCF and have a chance to get to the Finals, and that’s all I can ask for after the last 6-7 years.

    I agree with this.

Also, addressing KB24's point, I'm not sure where the idea came about that the Clippers lack chemistry. They returned almost their entire bench that's been together for several seasons. The only "chemistry" issues they could possibly have would be integrating Kawhi and PG. Conversely, look at the Lakers. How many new faces are part of the team? They need to build that chemistry and it is happening and will continue to happen. Why can't y'all enjoy the season?

I understand that this is a WMC so I will save my optimism for another thread but I just don't get all the Debbie Downers. What I see from the Lakers is a veteran team that is "load managing" without taking games off. I think we will see a different, more focused team in the home stretch.

I agree that we are likely to get to the conference finals and give the Clippers a run for their money. I'm not saying we are not good. I'm just worried we are not the best team, which is the goal, the only goal.

I would agree that after sucking for many years, this is all you can ask for and be happy with. The problem is that the Lakers aren't building something... They are in the end phase of LeBrons greatness. They have 2 shots imo... Their window doesn't allow a margin for error. It's extra pressure to succeed now and in Lakeland it means chip or bust... Especially if the Clippers win.

Personally, I like to root for rings.

The last 6 years on this board? I've rooted for the tank.

We screwed up with some trades and the way we built this roster.

Now, I have to watch the Tenants (if healthy) possibly come out the west.
