What happened to the Super Bowl halftime tribute? Did I blink and miss it? Lotta strutting, but not much tribute-ing that I saw.
Managed to visit Staples Center/LA Live over the weekend before they cleaned it all up. It was powerful and very cathartic. There was an unspoken silence around the area where people were able to leave gifts and flowers. That was the loudest silence I've ever heard. All the boards that you can write on were filled up with beautiful messages. People started writing on the ground, on the light posts... it was insane. With the pop up memorial taken down, visit the murals if you can. It's insane what artists can do when filled with passion. kobemural.com has the locations listed and are constantly updating. Went to 8 murals after visiting Staples and I think twice as much popped up since then.
Yeah I missed it too, it was before the game, they announced it all the players lined up on their respective 24 yard lines.
The player's tribute was great. But, JLo and Shakira did a presser a few days ago about how they were going to do this heartfelt tribute to Kobe during their halftime show, and then actually did nothing. At all. Zero.
Yes .I missed it too But they come up with a lame explanation. The halftime show remembrance of Bryant took place when Lopez's 11-year-old daughter, Emme, along with a children's choir, joined her on stage to sing "Let's Get Loud." An overhead shot of the field showed a giant cross, which lit up in purple and yellow, the colors of the Los Angeles Lakers for whom Bryant played for from 1996 until his retirement in 2016. I replayed a few times but didn't see any purple and yellow
I still haven't processed he's gone. It's just weird. I know we all will go some day, but it's so odd for him to not be in headlines still on this Earth doing stuff. It's so different.
sorry if posted but i when i saw this it got me going again....but still great to hear the love this man is getting
