what's capela's value on the market, though? they're suggesting they'll get a competent replacement at center AND a covington/iggy type. so capela better bring two firsts plus something that's not dead weight in salary, right? that's a tall order, imo.

i could see atlanta maybe moving hunter and len, but houston would have to add something, and i'm not sure dantoni has any use for len. saw they were sniffing around aaron gordon, but i don't see why orlando considers this.

So, what if we traded Kuz and another person (like KCP) and second round picks to the Grizzlies for Iggy and Crowder?

Crowder played with LeBron, and it seemed like it went well. He’d be a good back-up for AD off the bench, then you can pair Crowder with Iggy and Green to give LeBron and AD breaks.....that should be a solid 2nd Team.

I doubt that would mess up the rhythm that much.

To me, this is a huge mistake. We are already having some trouble getting consistent offense from anyone not named Lebron or Anthony. If we trade Kuz, we have to bring in someone who can score enough to be a solid third option. Also this idea of giving up Kuz for an older guy like Iggy who has 1 to 2 more years MAX left on his career expectations. Just can't do that.

It's one thing to trade BI and the others for AD because AD is a near perennial all star. You don't dump young talent that is solid with upside for older players with subsiding talent with downside. I love Iggy but he is getting old, we don't want to move major pieces for him unless they are similar in age. A year or two in age is one thing but 15 is another. Not fair trade value.

    Dream world scenario:
    Sign Collison
Trade Kuzma and Avery for Bogdan
Iggy buyout and sign him (cut Daniels)

    KCP, Green, Lebron, AD, Mcgee
    Collison, Caruso, Bogdan, Iggy, Dwight

    Or start Collison even

In reality, I think we can and do sign collison, unless we think we need a guy who can create much more, like Rose.

The problem with trading for Rose is that it would likely require Kuzma and Avery for Rose and Morris. If I am LAL, I also ask for a 2nd. Now we have no more trade chips and no wing defender.

I just don't see how we make a move for an explosive creator like Rose unless we are somehow able to do Boogie/Avery, THT, and 1-2 2nds for Rose. That does work math wise. Or even including Caruso (who I really would like to keep for his defense and hustle)

If we think we are fine w/o Rose or can get him for scraps, then we need to figure out a way if Kuzma can get us someone like Tucker or RoCo (overrated tbh, rather have Tucker). Can't get Marcus Morris realistically if we already used some salary up for Rose

Sign Collison. If we can, that alone is huge. Allows Bron more rest during the season. He is a decent defender and 3 point shooter. And will complement Kuz, Howard, and KCP well.

Trade for Markief Morris. Daniels and 2nd and Kacok or cash. Spaces floor and provides better perimeter D than Duds. Allows AD to do more things.

Give THT minutes after the allstar break.

    Done.

We aren't giving a g league rookie minutes LMFAO

Markieff isn't a good defender, worse than Dudley is

If I could pick someone with a low salary that we could get, it would be PJ Tucker. Just don't see it happening

The Spurs are working with DeMarre Carroll’s agent Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports & Entertainment to find a new home for the forward, who signed a three-year, $20 million deal last offseason.

Carroll, 33, hasn’t found any playing time with the Spurs and is looking to move on,
But it is Pop and don't think he is interested in any trades with Lakers

He is washed or he would be playing

He is also too small for Kawhi

I would love to swing Avery and Daniels to OKC for Roberson. We can also send cash considerations. OKC gets under the tax.

Then use Roberson and our 3 remaining 2nds for Marcus Morris

    Let's work backwards here:

Why is NY trading an asset (one they recently made known they would like a 1st for) to LA for 3 chances to draft future non-NBA players? You can literally buy the three 2nd round picks for less than Roberson makes. 2nd rounders can be in a throw in to a trade, but you're suggesting the whole trade is future late 2nds and a player who hasn't played in 3 years?

Basically every trade in this thread, let's first ask, why would the other team do it? The answer is almost always the same: they wouldn't.

He wasn't a great the other year, adv numbers not good. He is only 6'6 215 on espn, not big enough for what we need

3 2nds is better than nothing for a guy whose contract is expiring

Andre is just an expiring salary

Why did Mirotic get shipped out last yr to MIL for 4 2nds?

Those 2nds were also worse bottom 2nds (who knows where are 2nds are in 2023, 2024, 2025, might not be awful 2nds)

And Mirotic is less of a headache than Marcus

I agree Collison should be signed ASAP so he can start to integrate into our system. Maybe Iggy gets released and signs with us, but I think Houston might end up trading for him (channeling my inner abeer).

Here's the issue with all these moves. We only have so many minutes to disperse. Bogdan plays the same position as Iggy, Green and KCP. Collison is the glaring need, but even he has to worry about the team and staff's strange infatuation of Rondo.

I think we sign Collison. He gets some of Rondo, Caruso and KCP's minutes. And that's all folks.

Hopefully Collison doesn't drag his possible return out.

We need to know by tomorrow or mid Wed the latest

If not, Rose trade could really be in play, especially if we aren't finding a defensive 3/4

I thought his stats were good enough. I thought he had made a difference. If I am wrong, no worries.

It’s not an offer I’m super happy about, BUT it seems like it could help. Who knows.
