Cousins would have offset his defensive shortcomings by creating matchup nightmares trying to guard two 7 footers who could shoot from range and he'd still rebound as well with his freakishly long wingspan. His block rate post Achilles was the highest per 100 possessions of his career.

I really hope we don't let him walk or trade him without seeing what he is first.

i'd like to keep his rights and bring him back on the min next year if possible. but it's possible dwight is the more useful player at this point. maybe he can replace javale, though.

dwight might get some offers that are too rich for us, unless we want to use the MLE to keep him instead of fill a different hole in the roster. i suppose we could always move mcgee and kcp to fill the other holes, though. it's a long way out.

I'm not cutting anybody for Shumpert. I hope there is more options, though...

If Cousins is indeed 100% next year and he stays, Javelle is gone. You start Cousins, one, because he plays well with AD. 2, he his a scoring and rebounding dynamo at the center position and no one is close in the league right now at both.

Hopefully Howard signs again and you have him back up Cousins. That set up is murderous for 2021.

Jesus christ yes, no ex cleveland trash please. Lakers have enough "role" players. Buyout player with serious skills is what's needed. If you cant get that person, go with what you have.

Mcgee's NTC stands for next year too right? He does have a PO, so I hope he opts out and we bail on him if we can bring Boogie back for cheap.

I would possibly start Dwight though and let Boogie be our 6th man so our offense doesn't die when Lebron sits

i don't think of shumpert as thin or weak. he's got the frame to guard your paul georges and kawhis and hardens. but there's a reason that houston let him walk when they're after the same thing we are.

If he stays healthy and wants back (McGee) and we can entice Dwight to stay especially if we win or were denied really close to a ring ..... for as much as we can give over what he made this year but lower than the MLE while he continues to love playing here and his redemption ....... I would think Boogie with the injury history has at least another minimum year salary fairly coming?

does it? i thought it was tied to his option for some reason (once he opts in, he's tradeable). if not...ick. not that he's underperforming his deal--you'd just want some flexibility.

Does which .... what? I thought the option was McGee's next year? And the rest was just speculation.

    quoted wrong message somehow...

i meant mcgee's no-trade clause. it's not actual no-trade clause, so it works on a technicality. the question is whether it's tied to his option ( thus, once it's exercised, the NTC is gone) or if it's of the devean george variety, wherein a vet signing consecutive low-money deals gets control over his situation. feel like that's only on consecutive minimums, though?

I think McGee and Howard combo is perfect for this team. McGee is very good for this team.

Cousins is an all star when healthy so it's a no brainer if he comes back healthy, have to go with him over McGee. However, reality is telling me Cousins will never be fully healthy again. He has had a torn quad, knee and Achilles all on the same leg. He's likely a 20 min player too for the rest of his career. And if that is the case, better to keep McGee. He can block shots and make dunks at anytime during the game.
