You would have loved tonight's comeback win.

The Lakers put this game in the refrigerator.
The door’s closed, the lights are out, the eggs are cooling, the butter’s getting hard and the jellooooooooooo’s jiggling.

    Happy birthday, sir.

The best to ever do it along with Scully. I’m not sure I would have even gotten into Lakers games as much as I did as a kid if I didn’t hear Chick calling the games. He took it from a game to an event with his calls, had you riveted.

About the game officiating, a Hearn comment came to my head:

"19,000 referees tonight and only two getting paid."

Happy Birthday Chickie Baby and I hope you're with Marge!

I hear ya. I don't know if you're a hockey fan, Weezy, but Bob Miller is another gem. I do not take for granted how lucky I was to be born LA, and growing up here listening to these three.

    All three are LA immortals.

I became a Lakers fan in my first year in Jr. High and I think listening to Chick and how fun and insightful he was really drew me into the game and the team. He would tell the coach things he saw on the floor and changes the team needed to make to win and the coaches would listen because Chick knew his stuff.

When I was a kid, when the games were on channel 2 during the '80's, we'd turn on 570 and listen to Chick on the radio while watching the games, and that was especially necessary when we'd play those guys, since channel 2's announcers were ****** fans. Easily the GOAT, Chick brought life to basketball with how he called the games.

Yep we did too. Couldn't stand Tommy Heinsohn. He was actually a retired C Bags player so the network knew he was going to be biased but still trotted him out there. Chick was simply the very best. Heinsohn was literally the very worst.

Makes we wish how Hearn would have called our games so far this season given our really good start.

    - James hippity hopping with the ball
    - Howard at the elbow, he wouldn't shoot that shot if you put a gun to his head
    - You put it up on Davis, you'd have Spalding tattooed on your forehead
    - Twenty foot lay-up by Green
    - Bradley is on him like a cheap suit
    - Caldwell-Pope couldn't throw a pea in the ocean
    - Caldwell-Pope couldn't hit the broad side of the barn
    - Rondo a bad pass...the mustard is off the hot dog

Agree but Heinsohn was not at the level of Johnny Most. Now THAT guy....
