A) Da Raidahs! In control of their own destiny now. B) Holy s***. I can see at least two guys who should be suspended for a long time. Garrett - gotta be suspended -Swung at a player's head with the player's helmet? That's assault. 53 from Pitt - threw at least four punches and a kick to Garrett. Meanwhile, 66 from the Steelers did the right thing. That was awesome. 65 from Cleveland - cheap shot on the QB - from behind - after the play - who didn't have a helmet. What the hell is wrong with you?
Projections... Raiders 27 Bengals 20 The Raiders can win this game. They could put on a bit of an offensive display in the process. They're in the midst of their best offensive stretch of the season, posting at least 370 yards in five of their last six games. They haven't turned the ball over in three games. The Bengals have the worst defense in the league, allowing 430 yards per game. Included in that total is a ridiculous amount of rushing yardage. Cincy has surrendered 200+ rushing yards in nearly half (four of nine) of their games. Look for the Oakland RBs to get to work.
East Coast game against the Jets next week. Can't have this kind of showing. I'd be more a bit comfy if it was at home. BTW, it seems like we play Miami every season there in the hot weather when they are competitive. Now they suck and they are not in our schedule this year? Stuff just through my head...
So much for all the talk about a decisive win but Cincy did take some team to the brink (Indy?) so that Any Given Sunday adage holds true... Just Eke Out A Win Baby? Had to have some laughs here...
Posed a question to someone who gave me grief about the Mack trade. Could we be competitive if we had him and Carr taking up all the cap space? Wasn't able to answer and stared a hole through him. NFL Sunday hits: - when I saw the Garrett incident, said to myself "OMG, he just violated the Lyle Alzado rule!" - Thank you Minny. Skol! - hoping the Rams win so our draft choice creeps up... - following the result of the Chiefs-Chargers game. Go Bolts!
Looking ahead...Texans play Indy. The latter is the division leader sliding the former to 6th who have the tiebreaker over us. Brissett's back...
Looking at Highlights Rough day for Oakland Guards. Lots of pressure allowed, a few penalties. We could talk about missed tackles, too. There was one early along the sidelines on a long run. Then Morrow missed a tackle on a long reception. Isaiah Johnson - great play to break up a pass. Worley had a nice pass breakup, too. Trayvon Mullen - near pick. Mullen INT I think it was Riley and Harris on that last pass breakup before the Raiders' final possession. Carr threw some dimes, but Oakland receivers made impressive catches, too. I think the best one was Renfrow's diving grab along the sideline. Play of the game might have been Carr holding onto the ball after the sack Miller surrendered. Had he fumbled it there, the Bengals would have had the ball around the Oakland 30. Hope Auden Tate is okay. That was a scary play. Crosby - huge game. Yeah; weirdly the Raiders win and lose their playoff spot, but a few things: Houston and Indy is a big game. KC loss gives Oakland the division lead. Oakland has a favorable schedule to close the season.
