Hindsight is 20/20. Look at what OKC lost in Sabonis when they traded him. Mo Wagner is playing well so far but his defense is atrocious and with the way Dwight and Javale are playing, I couldn't have been more satisfied with our frontcourt.

Must refrain from being #triggered again.

Well let’s just say you are correct imho in that there were many ways to go about it and at the very least secure the max guy before shedding cheap assets that I’m sure most teams (that have no shot at legit FAs) would take on for basically free....and handing out roster spots even though they were vet mins.

Lakers made the right moves, even with Zubac. Zubac. McGee and Dwight allow the floor to be spread with Lebron, so does AD. I know we all want AD to be on the block closer to the hole but Lebron needs spacing for him to be fully effective. Lakers just need someone to give Lebron a breather for half the regular season games.

that wagner game was an absolute monster. but it's worth noting that even with that explosion, he's averaging 12/6 and not playing defense. think we're ok. players at this level are replaceable, in FA, every year.

bigs who can stretch the floor get paid a premium, there's virtually very no youg bigs who can shoit that gets paid min $ n its not just 12/6, hes also shooting 47% from 3s with nearly 3attempt a gm, we coudve used a different look at C here n there

we had it--cousins. at basically the same price. which is my point.

i thought dumping the young guys early in FA (before any commitment was secure) was dumb, but it's not worth fussing about. we didn't give away any potential stars. i'm not even sure any of them (wagner, bonga, bryant) is likely to be a starter for a quality team.

though i guess technically zubac is the clips' starter...but not really, right?

Cousins isn’t as good as a shooter as Mo is and should be going forward

You guys think Patty Mills or Forbes is enough to be our bench shooter and spark plug off bench? Maybe even close some games

    Per Shams:

Phoenix acquired Baynes on draft night, and in the weeks to come contenders such as the Lakers hoped Baynes would reach a buyout with the Suns to hit the open market, sources said. -The Athletic

If he gave back half of his 5.5m in a buyout, he could have recouped nearly all of it via a vet min deal with us. Maybe after we hoped to sign Kawhi, that was going to be the guy we locked up with one of our vet mins...instead...well y’all know.

Dude’s role will shrink once Ayton gets back so here’s to some more hoping....McGee has to consent on it by waiving his no-trade clause but McGee for Baynes works salary-wise.

Don’t see why the Suns would be eager to do it, but for us it could solve our slow starts with McGee in the starting lineup. Baynes is a banger on defense leaving AD to still hover and play that free safety role, while on offense, dude can hit the 3ball at a high enough clip to open the floor.

Baynes is a lifetime 80% FT shooter... his three ball is no fluke.
Obviously he's not going to keep up that pace but he's going to be pretty reliable from distance.
I'd love that trade but Phoenix would be insane to do it.
