I think that’s a little extreme for a team with almost entirely new roster, new coach and new system, getting a player back that could be rusty in Kuz. Dallas is a good team, they added Porzingis and Curry to Luca, and solid auditions last year for the bench in Hardaway Jr and Justin Jackson, and Brunson looks improved already this season as well. They also added Boban who hasn’t even played yet, but could be an answer for our size advantage for small stretches as he has been against us in the past. Most games in the West are going to be tough this season, I don’t think teams like Phoenix are as good as they look at this moment, but like Sacto they always raise their level when they play us because we’re the Lakers and they hate us. There’s no way we aren’t contenders if we drop a tough road game this early on though, and while I don’t have the stats in front of me, I feel like Dallas has been a solid home team for years now.

I agree but we have reasons to be optimistic.

Narrator: It did not happen again. In fact AD set a Lakers record for FTs made.

For one night, and I don’t even care if it’s brief, we are 1st in the West. Jazz and Clippers sit at 4-2, we are 4-1, an .800 ball club. I know it’s early, the West will be musical chairs for position all season long, but we haven’t been 1st in the West even 5 friggin games in for I don’t know how long. Also

I really like that now we can check the standings the way we’re supposed to instead of cursing every win. Let’s keep this going!

Best win in the newborn season. We got outplayed, outhustled, and outrebounded early. Stayed the course. Made some 3rd Q changes. Defense and the Bron light switch made it a game. Vets stayed cool and weathered the back and forth in the 3rd and 4th. Good chemistry builder. If we're capable of this now, that's a good sign moving forward.

That Dallas game really showed the difference between a team with experienced players and one with less experience. And that also applies to Doncic vs LeBron.

We are built for the playoffs, but my only concerns are with injuries and whether this veteran team can hold up for a whole season. Otherwise, I’m good. Oh, except for scaredy-cat KCP and goofball McGee.

Definitely. This same game with our kids last year would have been a 20+point loss. Our vets got some poise. They've been there before and their post season experience is showing early.

Danny Green has been a model vet. Dwight has shown his DPOY mind is still there.

Last night seemed like the best Laker win in years IMO.

Finally there is no need to scroll down the cellphone to see the Lakers' position in the standings.

And a bunch of people NEED to eat their words.
Howard won this game, his defense in the 4th was the single reason we won this game. WOW, almost hate to say it but we all know it's true. And another thing about Howard, Cousins could not play the defense Howard is playing. In his prime maybe, but not with his history of injuries. Whether we liked it or not, he is proving his worth.
