So, we only attempted 3 3pt shots the entire game. :wondering:

That was our shot chart tonight.

    Also, this

Lakers trail by 35 on a night where they've been outscored 36-0 from behind the arc. These two things are probably related.

Warriors were 13-33; we were 0-3. I don't expect this to be trend, but as others have said, there needs to be more of a balance within this offense during the regular season.

Yep. Definitely agree with that. Balance is key. This whole mentality of 10-15 shots just doesn't sit well with me. I know he doesn't literally mean 10-15 shots, but a team's identity clearly reflect the coach's philosophy. A team shouldn't average 15 or less 3pt shots a game unless they're just a horrendously bad 3pt shooting team. 3 is just incredibly laughable. It's still way too early in the season, but I don't like how "extreme" our past few coaches have been. I'm hoping this team finds a balance.

Also, based on that shot chart, our team isn't even taking it inside. Our offense is primarily predicated on shooting midrange jumpers, which is the least efficient shot in the game.

I'm sure Xavier, Swaggy and Kelly being out has reduced our 3 point attempts significantly

When you play the best three point shooting team in the League, you expect them to outscore you from that distance. Unfortunately you don't expect them to blow you away because you take NO threes.

The offense is a work in progress. With Clarkson, Lin, Young, and Kelly out you lose almost all of your three point shooting. It's just not a strength of ours. I love that we're catered to our team going inside because that's where we should be. That being said, once we get everybody healed up and the offense clicks a little more, we'll have more three point attempts and makes. Count on it.

    It's a pre-season game ya'll. No big deal.

Regarding the shot chart, if you're going to take that many 18 footers, you might as well just take a couple steps back for the 3 instead. Shooting that many long jumpers is an opposing coach's dream scenario.

Yeah. That was D'Antoni's "thing" ..... believing the "3" ball is scientific most bang for the buck. He just didn't give a bleep about the long bouncing MISSES that killed us on fast breaks.

That said, methinks Byron is over the top with lack of 3's in game so far. Hope this is not a fetish of his. Making players "leery" and afraid (of him) for taking them will guarantee their % sucks when they need to shoot them. Time and place for everything.
