Saw that. Great actor, but he might be too good to be a superhero honestly. At least in that genre as it is now. Who could he play in either universe that wouldn't immediately take you out of the movie?
I think the real issue is that I just can't see him as a superhero, serious or other wise. I just don't see his personality working as one.
That might be a good idea. I don't know. He's just got a different vibe man. To me it's like I couldn't imagine Dicaprio as a Marvel/DC guy now.
McConaughey now being rumored as Norman Osborn. http://screenrant.com/spectacular-spider-man-movie-reboot-matthew-mcconaughey-norman-osborn/
You know, that just might work. As for leo, I think he could hit home runs as Tony Stark(a very different take than RDJr, A Hank Pym, or even a Cap(if hr could get physically big enough for the roll. but leo is a whole different level of actor. MM mostly plays the same guy in films. Leo is much more diverse.
Saw this on reddit. He'd make an AWESOME Norman Osborn... Can't believe I didn't see that. He'd be a great Osborn and would bring some fantastic strength to the character. Leo... I think you're right about a different kind of Iron Man. I just don't know that I see him doing a Marvel movie. That dude is so desperate for hardware I think he'll only take those roles at this point.
Oh I doubt he ever would, he seems to lack the for a lack of a better term "fun" side like the actors who are in the MCU. They seem to really enjoy the acting out childhood play ground games on screen, and the new Doc Strange fits that mold to the t.
Good point. I think everyone in that world comes off as a good sport. Well everyone who is in it now. I think Hugo Weaving, Anthony Hopkins, and even Natalie Portman all seemed like they weren't too into it and that's why I think they're being phased out basically. Guys like Evans, RDJ, Ruffalo, Pratt, Scarlet... Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo... They all really seem to be into the roles and are having a good time with it.
Part of the fun of the films is the huge smiles and laughs the actors have when talking about the roles. A guy like Chris Evans was ready to walk away from acting, but now says he will gladly be cap anytime they ask. Again they are getting to really act out all the silly games we used to play in elementary school. When I watch my 4 and 6 year olds run around making sfx noises and "fighting bad guys" or each other, they are doing what those actors get to do for a living. And I think they know it and love it. I think Leo is too serious for that.
http://www.cinemablend.com/m/television/Marvel-Looking-Punisher-Blade-More-Netflix-Shows-72259.html Punisher...Yes Blade....Yes Ghost Rider...please no.
Punisher and Blade would be great on Netflix, they'd need to be a little darker than DareDevil and a little closer to the R/TV-MA rating with blood, guts, violence, and language. Netflix is their best bet because I don't see them getting on HBO or ShowTime. Bring back Thomas Jane please. Speaking of DareDevil, I just finished it this past weekend. Great first season. Not much to nit-pick or dislike about the first season, very well rounded first season that successfully washed the bad taste left over from the failed movie attempt. The fight scene in the hallway from episode 2(?) was my favorite single moment of the entire season.
Punisher would be FANTASTIC. I really want that. I think Blade would be alright, but they tried a show and it didn't work very well. Ghost Rider would be a cool cameo, but not strong enough for his own series. I think Moon Knight would be AWESOME as a show.
I think a blade or moon knight series would do well under the care of Netflix and Marvel. Particularly Blade who has proven to be a marketable commodity. Couple those things with America's current penchant for the undead and they might have something.
If it were me, I'd run a Punisher series, a Moon Knight series, and then a more open Mystical series with Blade, Ghost Rider, Son of Satan, etc. They can all crossover whenever they want, but that way I can maximize characters even if they can't carry a show. Blade can be the main attraction, but then you get Ghost Rider out of him too.
According to this rumor, Marvel wants Statham for Bullseye http://www.slashfilm.com/rumor-jason-statham-eyed-for-marvels-daredevil-season-2/
