move to Inglewood, but call it Crenshaw Clippers or Compton Clippers, give's it a nice edge/street cred to em, and since their colors have red and blue in it, all the crips and bloods can rep clipp gear like how gang members use to rep with raider gears

PICK HIM UP.... to try and get Giannis in 2021. Or he should join his brothers on the Bucks, form a big 3 there.

It would be a little eye opening if we gave him our 2nd two-way deal. There's a little smoke about the Lakers targeting Giannis. This would be pretty large smoke.

There’s no real NBA data on him, he played 2 games for Dallas last year, averaged 1 point in 5 minutes. He is 6’11 and only 21 though, might be worth taking a shot on a camp invite for some reserve size alone.

Edit: G-League footage. Not sure he’s an NBA player, but he’s long and athletic

I really hope the smoke surrounding our efforts to get Giannis are just that. Smoke. I watched the 60 Minutes segment on him and everything about him says he's very much at home in a small market, and way too loyal to the Bucks organization to get lured away to a big city. It wouldn't surprise me if years from now, after failing to reach the finals in his prime, he starts looking for another team to join, but I'm certain we're at least another contract away from that. Meanwhile, our strategy of clearing cap space and going all-in on marquee free agents while every other useful player gets snatched up has failed us every season since 2013 on.

That's demonstrably untrue at this point. Our strategy of being flexible and available to stars has worked out two of the last two years. LeBron as a FA and Davis in a trade. Being flexible in 2021 works best with or without Giannis.

Am kinda into this spirit of giving today and finding the Clippers a suitable new home. How about forgetting L.A. Live and instead economically revitalizing an entire southern CA area with a new "Clippers Live" project with shops and entertainment and a state of the art brand new arena on the shores of the Salton Sea?

Well the Clippers have been kind of “salty” over the years.

right. the troubling part is if it's another "<insert max guy here> or bust" plan. i'm in favor of making sure you have enough movable assets for a max every single year. i HATE clearing the decks all the time. and there IS a difference.

miami's capped out a**** got butler. gs became a player for dwight and signed iggy without anybody suspecting the possibilities.

but so many times teams send off guys ahead of time and end up wasting the cash on the FA market after they fail. that's the only bad scenario, imo.

anyway, i'm not sure signing giannis's brother is moving the needle. being a contender and growing the brand and staying flexible in the process, though...

Respectfully disagree. And you're conflating being flexible vis-a-vis tradable assets versus keeping cap space open for FAs. These are two entirely different things. I would never be critical of remaining flexible enough to trade for good players. We should always be flexible in that regard and we have profited greatly from doing just that (Gasol, Ariza, Shannon, Nash, Dwight, AD). Nobody would ever be critical of a team for stockpiling tradable assets. But stragetfically assuming marquee FAs are just going to walk here has bit us in the a** year after year. We've whiffed on Aldridge, Horford, KD, PG, several others I can't recall, and most recently Kawhi. And in most cases to our detriment (and some more than others). LeBron is the one exception and we really lucked into that one.

    Salton Sea
    Lake in California

    Description
The Salton Sea is a shallow, saline, endorheic rift lake located directly on the San Andreas Fault, predominantly in the U.S. state of California's Imperial and Coachella valleys.

Well...I do like the idea. Good call (nods head with a smirk)!
