Finished the Chernobyl HBO Mini Series the other day and just finished listened to their behind the scenes, discussion podcast with the writer/director. It was so good and very accurate which I'm sure is why its killing it in the ratings. The emotion and ways they put everything together only HBO and Sky TV could know this is how to best tell us exactly what happened at Chernobyl and the effects it had/has on a variety of people and philosophies still to this day.

Each episode of the Podcast goes with each episode of the series' 5 episodes. Make sure to watch the show first to not get spoiled and to be able to follow the podcast much better.

Well worth the 5+ hours of time investment. Not going to lie though there are some parts in one episode in particular that I just had to fast forward because it was just too hard to watch involving animals and didn't want to mess up my head. Just too difficult, but its real

Just finished Season 2 of The Wire. I’ve really liked it so far, but nothing I’ve seen stands out to me as making it the greatest show of all time which is what I had heard going into it.

Season 2 is the worst season of the great series that is the Wire. Season 4 is the best season, of any show, ever, IMHO.

Stick with it. I doubt you're disappointed.

I'm watching Cobra Kai season 2, the nostalgia of this is overflowing, I'm loving John Kreese here, just a story of redemption. I'm not binge watching though, taking it an episode a week, just to savor it longer

Glad to see this thread still going! Some recent shows I enjoyed: Dead to Me, Body Guard, and Patriot Act. And as someone else noted, the Sabrina reboot was actually pretty entertaining.

The Wire Season 3 right now. Please don’t spoil anything beyond this, but:

Stringer telling Avon he killed Deangelo.

I feel like the best is still yet to come, but this scene immediately feels to me like it’s going to be one of my favorite scenes ever in TV.

And now to continue with the seemingly hyperbolic statements:D

Stranger Things 3 was amazing and has solidified the show as one of the all time greats. There is no other ongoing series I’m aware of that is currently at that same level of quality.

I wasn’t a huge fan of season 2, but I still liked it quite a bit, even with what didn’t work it was better than most shows of this type. I loved season 3, thought it blew season 2 away, brought back the fun of season 1, really poured on the 80’s nostalgia. I’ve seen articles complaining about it being too much, but not for me, the mall in season 3 was like looking back in time at my childhood, I could smell and taste that place :D .

I started watching a show called Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency on Hulu, really funny and clever. I’d also recommend some FX shows I started on there as well like You’re The Worst and Man Seeking Woman.

Through ep 5 so far. I’m loving it! Season 2 while still good still imo took a half step back as far as storyline. Season 3 so far regained that step, then step it up a whole ‘nother level. A lot of jumps scares to start off the season but I guess that was typical of 80s horror movies. BTW episode 5, Anyone else thought the opening scene was reminiscent of Terminator? Down to the actor and the way he was walking and shooting? Even the music right after that part sort of sounded like the main Terminator theme. I thought it was very cool.

They look like they're trying a little hard to make it a GOT lookalike.

The Boys was very good. A lot of fun. Definitely not for kids though. Don't let the superhero genre fool you. This show is a HARD "R" or "MA" I guess since it's television.

I see your hyperbole and raise you: I think The O/A is far better. Possibly the best TV series ever.

I had watched Season 1 (honestly, if I recall correctly one of the main reasons was because I think you were praising it in this thread at that time too), and while I enjoyed it, it didn’t really grab me to the extent that I wanted to watch Season 2. I did hear that Season 2 was even better though, but apparently it got cancelled?

Would you recommend I watch Season 2 if Season 1 didn’t blow me away? Or is this maybe just not the show for me? I remember checking out the subreddit for the show after Season 1 and a lot of people that were into it were loving it for reasons that didn’t really appeal to me. A lot of meta stuff that kinda flew over my head, so either those interpretations were a reach or I’m just too dumb for this show (I admit the latter is more likely).

I think Season 2 is even better. And it has received in general more critical praise than the first.

I don't think it's about intelligence or "dumbness" here. If we're willing to just enjoy Stranger Things, we should also be able to enjoy something that's a little bit less direct in its storytelling. I really enjoyed season 2 of Stranger Things, except for the "crew" she meets. Season 3 was fun, too. They do a great job of character development. And if you're in to that, you should really pay attention to Steve and BBA in The OA.
