You know, I'd take Paul on a minimum contract on a heart beat as he is better than any of our PGs... with that said, I hate him so much that I don't want him to ever make an NBA finals...which he would on this team.
All I have to say IF he doesnt get hurt in WCF 2 seasons ago(1&1/3 year ago), they go on to win the chip. He gained my respect that series. Did he take a half a step back these past playoffs? Sure but people are kidding themselves if he gets bought out somehow and chose to sign here thinking he couldn't be a difference maker.
He can be a difference maker, thats what I'm saying. But he is a cancer and a flopper extraordinaire. So winning with Paul on the team isn't as nice as winning without Paul on the team. But as I said...for the minimum, I'd have to take him from a playmaking perspective... 90% FT shooter, still a good 3 point shooter and can handle the ball and pass with the best of them. He wouldn't need to average 18/9 here...I'd take 13/7 with solid spacing and finally a FT shooter that doesn't shake in the crunch time.
He's an ultimate choker, IMO, and I dislike him greatly. Still there is no doubt he's a great player and if we could get him for the minimum I couldn't fault the pickup at all. As KB24 said, he's so much better than anyone we have at the position that of course we should do it if it became a possibility. Plus he and Lebron are buddies and all so they would be a good match. The lobs to AD would be insane.
CPFlopperCat Do not want, but you don't pass that up if you got him for the minimum even if it was to just trade him for assets later lol.
Negative Nancy post follows - what I see PG: Bradley (Injured C bag) SG: Green (Former Spur and now a ring chasing role player) SF: LeBron (unlovable Old douche me first mercenary) PF: AD (Injury prone super talent committed for one year and not a proven winner) C: Cousins (Disabled malcontent with likely short stay and short fuse - unlikely ever able to regain his form) Our starting five inspires no emotions in me. Our roster of strangers doesn’t either. But Judy Seto is back! Seriously who the hell are these people? And you’ve already told me they’ll pretty much all be gone in 2 years, so we get to do this again? Even if we win the next two championships, it will feel hollow to me. The least gratifying out of all of the championships during my lifetime. Just meh
I'm super excited about our roster and LaVar is gone, now only to be commented on for our mocking pleasure.
I like that starting lineup, but I'd swap Cousins with JAVALE MCGEE in order to give us a more mobile defensive starting lineup. Cousins can give us scoring off the bench with Kuz.
I'll give this a whirl: PG: Bradley SG: Green SF: LeBron PF: Davis C: McGee Bench Rotation: Kuzma, Cousins, Cook, Caruso, KCP Kuz & Cousins are going to absolutely FEAST on 2nd units this year.
i like bron's lineup, too. i'd start cousins because davis is such a great weakside defender/shotblocker. have mcgee play opposite davis, so we always have both a lob threat and shot blocker on the floor. i'm guessing that--despite my annoyance--we'll see a lot of rondo when lebron isn't in the game, just for the sake of organizing an offense. i also think that we'll get forced into a closing lineup with neither of our centers on the floor at times (davis at c, lebron at pf) against teams with ball dominant scoring guards looking to punish bigs with threes.
