I don't care too much if he gets credit, I just think it's all a little crazy. I must have missed all the bad stuff this last year, but at this point the FO has righted the ship. I know everyone is probably hesitant to accept it and it probably sounds weird after the mess from the last year or so. There definitely needs to be more credit given, but at this point eff it. Just got to keep proving people wrong, even the fans who have become jaded over the last few months (undersrandably jaded).

I have this feeling he is still going to be very aggressive looking for a third star...

Kcp has a no-trade clause this summer. He can refuse any trade this year.

Green is the only contract we can realistically use in bringing back a psuedo star in trade mid-December and the contract of that pseudo star would have to be in the ballpark of 20m (ie Green traded by himself brings back 19.6m in salary matching).

Magic and Rob failed big time

They traded or gave up assets to create a 2nd max slot ... which became role players

My goodness...how much criticism is Rob going to take?

I'll take Rob over like half the league's other GM's...we didn't grossly overpay ANYBODY and now we have some roster continuity for at least the next 2 years.

Yes, I would have liked to not have overpaid KCP once again (I wanted Delon Wright)...but KCP is a good fit on this roster given that he can shoot, and given that guys like Reggie Bullock and Wayne Ellington got 9m+ this summer on 2-year deals...we got KCP at a good price given his age and his skillset. Not to mention...he was our Klutch connection to begin with...and now we have 2 of the top 5 players in the game on our team as a result.

The only criticism i have so far is bringing Rondo back...other than that...getting the guys we got at the prices we got while also keeping a guy like Caruso (whom I'm super high on), and still having 2 roster spots open with the MLE still in play...with guys like Bradley,Korver,Iggy(potentially) going to be on the market...we are going to have depth on this team while featuring 2 superstars (possibly 3 if Kuzma or Cousins break out this year)...I like our chances. f***ing BRING IT CLIPPERS.

AND AS I TYPE THIS...WE JUST GOT AVERY BRADLEY. BANG.

All I know is this, Magic's tenure as president here will be known as letting randle go, letting brook lopez go, Signing Stevenson, rondo and Beasley, trading away Lou Williams, trading Zubac and then prematurely quitting as president and doing an impromptu conference without telling any of his bosses.

Whether it was Rob or not, he will be known for getting AD, and signing the rest of these guys... Its a helluva lot better than Magic's brief tenure as president/GM here. His career here as a player can't be denied, but everything else? Ugh.. I've lost almost all respect for the guy after his three television appearances.

I don't get this "Klutch is doing everything" Mantra.. Didn't the Lakers FO get LeBron & Klutch here to LA..?
So now that they're helping us secure other players, it's all Klutch & our FO sucks..?
We brought in a powerful ally & it's paying off.

When @vasashi17 was giving his rationale for Rob's handling of the cap being bad part of it was that Wagner, Bonga and JJ were lost and had good value. My from the hip thought at the time and I said it was I bet for the same money for this team we will wind up with better than those 3 bang for the buck players on our roster. We have accomplished that with depth now at every position and talent and BEEF and everyone's seasoned vets even Kuz now and Caruso.

LeBron chooses where he goes, so I don't think we brought him here to be honest. And Klutch is directly responsible for AD... Once you have 2 stars it suddenly becomes easier to sign role players below market value.

And yes, I personally think our FO sucks until they win a championship.

If your best isn't good enough, we might need somebody else's best next time.

Yes, LeBron chose us, but that doesn't mean much. Rob could have f***ed this summer up by taking on bad contracts, handing out bad contracts, not trading the kids for Davis.

It makes no sense to give Klutch all the credit when Rob is doing what needs to be done. You know who else did that? David Griffin. :D And everyone wants him to take our GM job. Rob just built a contender and not giving him credit is just bias at this point. Again, I get the bias given what we've all been through as fans the last couple years, but we're a legitimate contender and Rob deserves credit for that.

& yet Vegas has the Lakers with the 2nd best odds of winning the Chip next Season.. vs. us missing the Playoffs 6 years in a row.
I'll take that level of failing any Day.

I get that not every move was perfect, but you have to take risks sometimes & Rob probably felt that cash in hand was better than waiting to move guys later. Besides, the end of our bench is actually serviceable now. Moe, JJ & Bonga weren't gonna add anything to this Roster.

2nd year Moe might have been nice but we have AD, Boogie, McGee and Kuzma ahead of him so I'd rather roll with those 4 if he helped make it possible. And I liked him.

Let them count us out so that when we win it all, it'll be even sweeter.

I don't, like ROb that is...

This is team LeBron. These signings have to do with him and AD. Rob needs to get hit by a truck and Jeanie needs to get hit with a water balloon from the 20th story to give her amnesia so we can get someone competent making FO decisions on hires and so forth...

    Of course I'm kidding

LMAO c'mon mane, if we were drinking a couple beers together it would be comical. I treat this like a barbershop environment with teh boys talking mad trash and laughing hard at each other. We all love this franchise bottom line and we have different ideas of what we think would make it right but the one thing that we all agree on more than anything is we want to win

If your loyalty is with those that really put in the work, that would not be Magic. By his own admission, he was part time at best. I also don’t know why Rob gets constantly blamed for the cap. The Lakers employee a cap specialist, that’s his one and only job. A GM has many jobs. Utilization of cap is only one of them.

Bradley Beal by the deadline. However, if the Lakers are 35-12 heading to the all star break, unlikely they do anything.
