How much money do we have left?

 

We either have about $5 million left and the room exception, or $9 million with no room exception. It depends how you want to look at it. It was by design to have flexibility if we want to throw a $9 mil offer to 1 more player, or split that to 2 offers for $4.5 mil. Why I say this is because they have the choice to either use cap space to sign McGee using cap space or by the room exception (which is about $4 mil anyway).

Danny green ($15 mil) + KCP ($8 mil) + McGee ($4 mil) = $27 mil.

Again, that could mean we have our choice of either $5 mil plus room exception left, or $9 mil total for a “big offer” to someone.

I will be very annoyed if we throw $9 mil at Rondo lol. I don’t hate the idea of him coming back, considering the lack of options left for point guard. Would just like cheaper terms with him.

boogie, bradley, quinn cook are all guys i want to fill out the roster. not possible to get both boogie and bradley, though.

make sure the clips can't get either at the room exception, though.

 

We need to get Avery bradley, we have been wasting money on KCP for 3 years but we need Klutch,so that's the tax we gotta pay, Just give Bradley a 3 year 27M contract

Whoever we sign next, guaranteed we won’t be offering any contracts longer than 2 year.

It’s not a accident Green/McGee/KcP are 2 year contracts.

Lebron has an opt out in 2 years.

We will potentially have a ton of cap space again in summer 2021 to go big fish hunting again. This time the price is Giannis. He will be a unrestricted free agent.

Maintaining flexibility is smart but I hope we’re not banking on Giannis (although I know we probably are).

That’s a good point. I think both LA teams will be out of the running for Westbrook because they have nothing left to offer lol.

Miami can still offer Dragic/Ryan Anderson. Both are expiring contracts so Westbrook becomes a salary dump. Miami would have to likely surrender multiple 1st rounders too... like 2023, 2025, 2027 1st.

Too bad the knicks blew their cap space on Julius Randle plus other role players. They could have spent that absorbing Westbrook in exchange for picks too.

I would’ve signed Bradley over KCP. But since we signed KCP and Green, I do not see him as an option for us. I really hope Cousins doesn’t go to the Clippers.

 

I’d take Cousins and bring back Lance. I have 0 confidence in Dudley/Kuz being our backup 3’s.
