Have you started tournament play yet? What is the level you compete at with table tennis?

Yeah I played in a Super Round Robin this morning. I’m lower level when compared to the “real players”. I picked the sport up late, maybe six years ago since my knee won’t let me play b-ball anymore. My best national result was 2 points away from the semi-finals in 3200 Doubles.

I was thinking about an 80s/90s comp to Lebron/Kawhi/AD. Would it be magic/pippen/Hakeem?

Magic, Kareem, and Bird all on the same team.

    So was I. :D

    Magic- LeBron
    Davis- Kareem
    Bird- Kawhi

I think Kawhi is a better offensive player than Pippen and Davis has been putting up Kareem-esque stats in the playoffs.

Hakeem was closer to ADs height and had more perimeter game and guard skills like AD than Kareem though.
Kawhi is a tough comp because there’s not another elite two way player like him in the 80/90s. Pippen isn’t as offensively skilled and Jordan is much better offensively than Kawhi. Tbh, Kawhi may be more mj than bird.

I was thinking about the numbers. I could see the Hakeem comparison for Davis then in terms of skills. Davis is taller than Hakeem though. I know Davis is listed at 6'10" or 6'11" but he's a 7 footer.

I really like the Bird comparison to be honest. Not the craziest athlete, but a good one. A good passer, but a born scorer. He's definitely better defensively than Larry though. Somewhere between Bird and Pippen because he is better than Pippen was. I think he's short of MJ though. Kawhi is a step below Kobe athletically and Kobe was a step behind Jordan.

Kawhi does have some Jordan in his game though. Not in the way Kobe did. But there's just something about him that reminds me of MJ.

This is the MJ part of his game to me (also his one handed soaring dunks)

The way he kind of glides when he fades away too. I'm sure there's a video on YouTube comparing the two. I'll take a gander.

Not to turn this into a Kobe thread, but whatever comparison you find to Kawhi & Jordan on the fade away shot won't hold up to these right here:
