I nearly fainted when I saw 5/170 for Murray.

I think it is smart to not sign anyone early...

let the free agent cash pool dry up a little bit and then get people on the cheap without competition.

We will lose out on a few guys but honestly...the way it looks, 32 mio. is just enough for 2 bench players.

I gladly miss out on Corey Joseph who got 37 mio. from the Kings for 2 years or Terry Rozier who got close to 20 mio. annualy from the Pels...

I'm sure prices will come down once "dumb" teams dry up their cap.

yeah, some guys i like have gone, but almost no one at a price point that made me comfortable.

bargains tend to be at the lower exceptions every year, it seems. that and the buyout market and buyer's remorse trade market.

    Yes our time will come.

It seems to me the difference in quality between a vet. min. and an 8 mio. dollar player doesn't justify the price difference.

Once the teams shoot all their powder, you can sign players at more reasonable prices.

Giving guys like Rozier 20 mio. a year...the guy has never averaged more than 11 ppg or 5 apg...its insane to me. Caruso can give you similar production lolz.

    Think about this way:

    Kemba: 32.7m (30% full max)
    KD: 33m
    DLo: 27.3m (25% full max)
    Ky: 28.5m

KD & Ky both took a generous portion away from their true max to fit DJ onto their capsheet.

Nets made out like bandits on day 1.

Also I knew it was weird for DLo to remain in GS...I think the deal still eventually expand to Minny (and possibly us...I hope not tho)

I just posted this in the DLo thread, but I think they should keep him for the full season. He helps fill the gap that Klay leaves and then allows Klay to ease his way back into form when he returns. He also takes some load off of Curry since this is really a throwaway year. Maybe someone makes a great offer at the deadline, but I see a benefit to keeping him for 1 full season.

I agree. I think all of that stuff is overstated in terms of moving him quickly.

I also dont know what moving him does for their hardcap because I dont think they want to be marries to Curry/Russell/Klay. I think next summer you move him possibly if let's you keep Draymond.

Could be, but deal ain't official till the moratorium lifts, so there still could be some moving pieces involved.

Would make sense for them I guess, keep him til Klay is ready or near ready then flip him for a better fit. Don’t get why DLo would really buy into it though he’s sacrificing all free will in deciding where he plays beyond the next few months

i said in the other thread: dlo hadn't gotten his big payday yet. couldn't risk the market drying up on him and having to prove himself another year or take sub-market value. good choice, imo.

Gave up a protected 1st round pick too.

But KD gave the dubs something back instead of nothing...like he did with OKC. DLo is a good asset and I'm sure teams like Minny and Phx will look into dealing for him somewhere down the line...if not right now in getting in touch with the dubs to open up this trade even further.

While I agree with Marc that GSW could look to trade him it doesn't make a ton of sense to do that this year while wanting to stay competitive while Klay is out most of the year and returning maybe around March of 2020. I could see them trading him in the offseason of 2020 to make sure they can bring Draymond back. But to trade him while Klay is out just doesn't add up IMO.

    LeBron- 37.4
    Davis- 27.1
    Green- 15
    Pope- 8
    Kuzma- 2
    Cap holds- 6.3

    Available- 13.2m

That should be our baseline available cash right now assuming we use the Room Exception on McGee. Hopefully we can get Morris, Bradley, and I assume Rondo is coming back. Then you add Dudley, Daniels, and any other minimum deals.

I would love Bradley. But I think signing KCP ended that. With Green and Daniels, and KCP, is t Bradley too redundant?

Now I wish we didn’t agree to deals with Daniels or Dudley.
