Upshaw's a nut and Johnson is going to drop to the late 1st/early 2nd for a reason. Unless we like the Hill's, Sacre's, and Davis trying to playing center next year, and I'm not willing to do that.

Roll the dice? It's not coincidence that Kentucky's defense paved the way to deep tournament runs the last two years. He might not have the upside of Towns defensively, but he already has the instincts and skills to perform at the NBA level as an anchor. His pick and roll defense is top notch the way he can stay with guards.

    There's a reason he's a projected top 10 pick compared to Upshaw/Dakari.

Also, it would be beneficial to have a starting center ahead of Stein to develop behind. He's not going to come out the gates playing 30 mpg. I also said for Asik to be on a Team Option deal where if WCS develops into that starting C, we can let Asik go and move forward with WCS. No questions asked.

Me too. I can see him being our pick if we aren't in the top two.

That is indeed a strange feeling. I don't even have him in my Top 5 anymore. I'd rather have Winslow or Johnson at #5, whomever is available after Towns, Okafor, and Mudiay go Top 3.

Not a strange feeling; Elgin, Punk, and I have been on the bandwagon all year; along with some others I'm not forgetting. Every major site I've been too has him going in the top 5. I think the FO will have him very high on their board, IMO.

Good. I need to see more Mudiay, and we will. The combine thing isn't an issue at all with me. I could care less if he attends or not...

    Yeah, I'm just thinking Clarkson/Russell as a slasher/shooter will be a more balanced backcourt than Clarkson/Mudiay as a slasher/slasher.

Not denying the talent of Mudiay.

Except Mudiay is more of a PG and Clarkson is more a combo guard. True they're both slashers, but I think either or both can be effective as catch-and-shoot three point guys.

More importantly though they'd be a hell of a defensive tandem.

Could be; Well, defense is going to be a concern, offensively Clarkson and Russell work seamlessly. I've said this before; I think the league is changing where you are going to have more combo guards at both the 1 and 2 in the coming years. Russell is a more natural facilitator than Clarkson, has better vision, a better shot, while Clarkson is more athletic, better finisher, and a has shown better technique all at the NBA level. Clarkson's shooting is coming along, though.

Winslow is there there too for me; he reminds me of Tony Allen defensively; quick feet, good length, good help defender and plays free safety like Allen does for Memphis. Offensively, Winslow is going to be adequate offensively. At 19, though, he could improve...Henzonja is my sleeper, though. If he kills in workouts and in interviews, I'd probably take him before Winslow.

JUST GIVE US A TOP 2 PICK AND THERE WOULDN'T BE MUCH DEBATE ON WHO WE SHOULD PICK.

On this we definitely agree. Hezonja has the tools, but I'm not at all sold on his head being screwed on straight. I'd love to see him in a one-on-one workout with Kobe and see if the kid really is a competitor or if he's just a jerk.

Could you live with Boogie level jerk?

My assumption is if you're going to be a Boogie level jerk, then you're gone because Boogie in Sacramento right now is a distraction. We can't afford that type of problem right now.

My other assumption is that most times when a guy comes here, those attitude problems will find healthier channels. It didn't work with Dwight though...
