    no way i take him in the top 5 if i'm the lakers. towns/okafor/russell/winslow/hezonja are certainly ahead of him on my personal board. foreign leagues and nba benches are littered with "next dirks".

    Porzingis basically rounds out my Top 10, but since we either have a Top 5 pick or we don't have a pick at all he's more or less invisible to me. My board now before workouts (and subject to the whims of my beer and concussion riddled brain):

    1. Okafor
    2. Towns
    3. Mudiay
    4. Johnson
    5. Winslow
    6. Russell
    7. Cauley-Stein
    8. Hezonja
    9. Kaminksy
    10. Porzingis

    Most able to move up: Hezonja
    Most able to move down: Johnson or Winslow. I have a feeling one of them will pull away in the workouts and I'm starting to think it's Winslow because he's more able to contribute offensively right now than Johnson... I still would love Stan Johnson though. Give me a strong perimeter defender all day I love that ish.

    I think WCS may also have a shot at our pick too. If we're expecting Randle to be the type of interior scorer and offensive player he's supposed to be, getting a player like WCS would make a lot of sense to be that defensive anchor for us who can guard pretty much any position. Not to mention, their Kentucky connection would bode well too.

    That way, we can focus on obtaining talent through Free Agency instead of the obscurity of Marcs, Aldridges, DeAndres, and more on the Carrolls, Butlers, and Middletons.

    I'd opt for Cauley Stein. I'm more inclined to go after a Chandler in the off-season, draft WCS (if we fall out of the top 3), and have Chandler mentor WCS for 2 years. In the interim while Chandler is playing, we'll improve defensively, win more games, and be brining WCS along to step in and replace Chandler...

    OR we could go after Koufos and draft WCS; same concept applies besides the mentoring aspect that I believe Chandler would bring to the team.

    Over even Asik. I think he's still capable of playing at a decent level. While he underperformed in New Orleans, we can probably get a good deal on him, after we spend big money on a talented swingman.

    One of my favorite scenarios is Carroll for 12.5 and Asik for 10 million this summer. If we draft a wing or a guard that leaves us in an excellent spot and really sets us up perfectly for Durant to step in assuming we make some headway towards the playoffs.

    Wow 4% is super low for a kid his age. No wonder they're calling him a physical specimen like Wall. I'd actually like him to be a little heavier than that even.

    And good for him to go watch his brother graduate.

    @therealdeal yeah, 4% is impressive for a bball teenager. Shows he's not about that McDonald's diet. Shows a good work ethic and focus, I think. If he's going to play some two and succeed as a combo guard, he'll have to adjust that percentage a little just to give him some padding for the hits he'll take in the post. Shouldn't be a problem for the strength and conditioning coach for wherever he lands -- hopefully in LA if the bigs are gone.

    Well, considering Asik only made (on average) $8.5M per year on his last contract, and the fact that he really didn't have a good season with New Orleans, I think he may fall to the $7-9M range. Perhaps get him on that Jordan Hill Team Option deal. I'd be okay with that.

    Definitely if we're lucky enough to draft 3rd and the two bigs are gone, Mudiay is my guy. Strong kid, good morals/ethics, great talent. The worst thing about him is his shot and that's fixable at the NBA level. I'm really high on him. I agree he needs to actually put on a little bit more weight maybe closer to 5-6% along with some muscle for when he hits the floor.

    I dig that and it's a great point. Heck, if Carroll costs about 11 million and Asik costs 8 million that leaves enough room for Davis too. Check it:

    Clarkson/Mudiay/Price
    Kobe/Ellington/Brown
    Carroll/Young/
    Randle/Black/Ryan Kelly
    Asik/Davis/Dakari Johnson

    That team could totally compete with New Orleans for that 8th seed.

    I don't think I'd take WCS regardless. If we're going to roll the dice on a young C outside of the top 2 + sign an established C, I sign Biyombo & take a late gamble on guys like Upshaw/Dakari Johnson. I take 1 of the top 2 guards or top 2 wings if we keep the pick.

    I don't like the idea of throwing 10M+ a year at a player at the same position as our top 5 pick. Also don't like WCS' potential to become a starting C that much more than guys like Upshaw/Dakari. Maybe a slight edge, but not enough to justify a top 5 pick with guys like that available late 1st/2nd.
