    This is not great for us, because I could see role players instead of waiting to join us go to GSW. Just more competition now if this plays that this way

    Noel wasn't a consideration at any point, based on the names I've been told. Of course my list wasn't exhaustive. DeAndre Jordan was, but once Kyrie and Kevin committed to the Nets there was no point in pursuing it. Brook Lopez was as well, but there was no way the Lakers could match that contract. Nor did they think it was worthwhile.

    Rondo, KCP, Caruso, and Bullock are all names I've heard that the Lakers would like to keep. McGee is on the cards as well but the sentiment is he may get paid a lot.

    For outside free agents, Seth and Patrick are two of the big ones. Interest in Danny Green as well but again, sentiment is he will get paid a lot.

    There's still interest in D'Angelo of course, but at this point the Lakers realize that he may commit elsewhere before they get a confirmation from Kawhi. They're okay with that.

    If I remember right, that traded player exception cannot be used between multiple players, so by depth, they mean one additional player?
