LMAO! My thoughts exactly man. The C Bags are interested in Kemba? LOL. I can't wait to beat them out ONCE AGAIN and have the media NOT talk about it because Ainge can do no wrong!

That conversation will go over reallyyyy well....dumped IT2 after he got injured and then ran Kyrie out of town...Kemba REALLY gonna be interested in Boston after that!

Hey guys, Lakers got a 26 year old Anthony Davis 2 weeks ago.

Thought I'd remind you in case you forgot. Another thing you might have forgot is the Lakers won the off season and no one else will get close.

I'll remind you again next week in case we don't get the big max free agent. Lakers got the biggest prize in the NBA. Yes, AD is gonna be bigger than Kawhi.

    Have a nice week.

Agreed! As long as they don't MozDeng or "smashmouth" (ie last summer's strategy) themselves things'll be great.

If we dont get Kawhi or Kyrie, i think we have a great shot at Butler or Kemba.
Or, Dlo or Vuc at the max is high risk high reward. I'd be fine with either.
Or, if we end up with any 3 of: Green, Collison, Beverly, Seth, Boggy, Brolo, Redick, Mcgee, etc. we're also golden.

I think having both Lebron and AD gives us really good potential to be in a win/win situation with free agency.

If we get a max FA, Laker nation will be able to get excited about 3 stars.
If we go the depth route, Laker nation will be able to get excited about our 2 stars with higher quality surrounding pieces.

I visualize the max FA list as sliding scale where people differ on where to jump from Max guy to depth

    Example.
    Kawhi,
    Kyrie,
    Kemba,
----------> this is where I would switch to building our depth by splitting the cap space
    Butler
    Russell

The only big lose situation for us that I can see is if we build our team like last year, and don't surround Lebron and AD with shooters.

Thinking about things more, is DLO really worth 27M from us? He would be the 2nd primary ball handler and spend a lot of time doing catch and shoot (which he is a bit above avg at for a guard). Defense is still a concern but numbers show he is better. Just worried of the defense between him, Kuzma, and Lebron (in reg season/nights he isn't trying as hard).

Is there any chance we could get DLO for like 22-24M and then use rest of cap space that we opened up and with trade kicker for Danny Green. Room exception on Ariza or Bullock? Rondo for min. Korver for min.

DLO/Green/Lebron/AD/Robin Lopez or Mcgee (any C for the min)
    Rondo, Korver, Ariza, Kuzma

He's going for max. If guys like Al Horford and Khris Middleton are getting ridiculous contracts, D'Lo's max is really good value to be honest.

I'm just going to put it out there that there aren't many two way guards in the league, let alone, defensive specialists at that position. Beverly, Jrue, Avery Bradley are a short list, but most star guards Westbrook, Lillard, Harden, are matadors on defense, but are overlooked because of their offensive production. Russell isn't quite the level of those players (yet), but I believe his offensive arsenal warrants that. Rondo on the other hand...

Why would Dallas go after Kemba? That takes the ball out of Luka's hands. Bad idea.

I may rather have Middleton over DLO tbh for 27M even. I think DLO is more skilled as a #1, but he is likely a #3 on a true contender anyways at the moment. If he hits his ceiling he will be a #2.

He shot 39% on catch and shoot last year, 47% the year before. He had a weaker year this year around 35%.

But he is a better defender and still a very good creator for himself. He was elite in iso this year.

Why? Nick Young b******* all over again. Bron has a lot of other washed up friends without the headache.

This is what makes me want to bring in a few 3 and d guys.

    Collison, Green, and Brook
    or
    Pat Bev, Lamb/Bullock/Ross and Brook

Just wish there was a 3 and d guy who is also a decent creator out there.

Middleton is at his ceiling though. He's a great 3 and D player, but that's pretty much it. It's why the Bucks aren't going to go further as currently constructed. What you're paying with Russell is his ceiling at his age. He's 4 years younger and hasn't entered his prime yet. There's still a lot of things Russell can learn about being a focal point, like decision making and leadership. But the kid has hit clutch shots before and has that swagger about his game that you don't find in a lot of players.
