    This carries the biggest weight.

Also, I feel we can fill out the roster with ring chasing players who are willing to take a discount (see Boogie). If we win, now they can add “champion” to their resume and collect a big contract next season. It’s a gamble, sure, but if I was ring chasing, I’d heavily consider it for one year. Look at Ariza, he got $15M last year from Phoenix of all teams, but he hasn’t done much since winning with us.

Exactly. Also I forgot to mention that if we get a 3rd max star all the other contending teams are gonna go into panic mode, trading and waiving players to compete with us, especially since the GSW dynasty is in the shop this year. There may be nice players for pennies on the dollar off the waiver wire

Even if they aren't available at the start of the season, they will become available at the deadline.

100% this.. My mantra has been, Wait it out until the 2020 Trade Deadline before making any final judgement on this Team.

Collison seems like the best value play. Hope we get him if no Kawhi or Kyrie

I want Beverly if we can't get Kyrie, but Collison for the right price is a no brainer. He can do what we need him to do. It's fantastic that there are multiple people out there who are extremely serviceable.

Lebron can still be a lockdown defender 1-5, in spurts when he doesnt have to ration his energy for carrying the offensive load. If Beverly would take the room exemption after we sign Kawhi or Butler...holy defense batman!

I haven't even truly considered there's a possibility of us getting Kawhi. I don't want to get my hopes up. I just feel like there'd be more smoke right now if there was a legitimate possibility. Just seems too good to be true.

But if we do sign him, I'm buying an expensive a** bottle of champagne and storing it until June...

He's just a do-nothing player on offense, but in his defense, he takes care of the ball. His defensive numbers are solid, but both PGs and SGs were better against him than against other PGs/SGs on the Pacers.

Can't shoot or stay on the court. His defensive numbers might be worth a deeper dive, but it will be hard to get a good read on him, as he hasn't played meaningful minutes since 2015-16.

burke's been quietly improving. i guess collison must be a lot better than i remember (didn't watch him much last year).

arcidiacono has been much better than i expected in the pros.

Trey Burke is the type of player that might actually get himself a decent payday by coming off the bench for the Lakers. He can score points in a hurry and we're thin at Guard, so I would look at him for the minimum for depth.
