I just said why Jeanie didn't do that above. IMO. Why be forced into having to let go her GM by a guy who just quit on her abruptly with no warning when she wasn't going to do it while he was still PBO. For reasons to her choices internally.

as note, magic title/position was created for him, so they probably didnt see a need anyways to replace him since that role wasnt going to exist w/o him...that seems to be rationale as to why they stated they're not going to hire a pbo

Sometimes I skip wordy posts but still like them just for use of great gifs.

I’m a serious fan like that. Style points matter.

I will never forgive Woj/Ramona/etc for forcing me to defend Rob Pelinka, but their credibility with Lakers fans has been severely damaged with this whole dumb fake fiasco they drummed up. So weak.

I think Ramona was actually the worst in all this. Woj isn’t plugged into the Lakers like she is, you’d think she’d be more careful with her insider status as Jeanie’s mouthpiece. I know it was kind of hinted at that she may not have the same access right now and may be being negative because of it. ESPN really turns really good journalists to doing some shady stuff.

It’s cause we learned from Magic’s big mouth. No more spilling the beans and having talks break down.

So ESPN agents pissy and makes stories up.

Jemerrio Jones tweet seven days ago on the 13th. With all that's been going on, looks like our FO had it planned all along.

I knew about this 7 days ago. Ireland mentioned it.

That's why I never was up in arms about all this cap garbage rhetoric that was being spewed.

Someone on Twitter referenced this and wondered if maybe Jones had to come back to LA to sign some papers to make his deal more guaranteed for trade filler.

Pincus said that was laughable, and that’s not how partially guaranteed contracts work that it would require Jones to physically come back to LA to sign anything.

Not sure if it’s been posted elsewhere yet, but yeah Ramona is now confirmed to be a clown.

I thought there was something to that JJ thing too, but...

Then Woj comes in and drops this on the 18th and since then JJ had ghosted IG and Twitter.

That's not how a dude moves if this was planned out well in advance...just saying.

I think we had an understanding that we could complete the deal in August, but with the knowledge that Griff works still shop the 4th to a 3rd team. If that eventually happened, it was up to the 3rd team to sit on it till August or pull it off in July.

If it was pulled off earlier Rob knew he needed to get the other guys involved in the deal to salary match. So Rob was aware of that possiblity, but it's not like this was locked in place a week ago.

About 2-3 weeks ago , she was on Ireland and Mason before the Davis deal was reported, and she was very positive about the talks between us and NO.

She even mentioned Tatum's value not being as high due to his recent struggles during the season and in the PO's. I had never heard anybody say that in the media; I remember feeling pretty good after that interview with her.

Fast forward: I heard her a couple of days ago mention her seeing the Anthony Davis story and finding out about it; the interesting thing she mentioned was this part, "I called one of my sources to confirm, and they lied to me about the trade being reported as done, essentially..." paraphrasing.

I am starting to think that "source" is a Lakers one; and she is upset that they lied.

I mean: is it a leap for me to jump to that conclusion? I don't think so. She was usually pretty positive, but in recent weeks, especially the last couple of days, I have seen a real change

    Just my 0.02 cents

Mr. Rambis also mentioned Windhorst getting upset and starting to report negatively because LA wasn't feeding him info. Seems to be their common response, or the only way they can exert any power.

I actually like that they shut out Ramona on the trade news. Mitch used to be so tight lipped that when Woj was tweeted out 2-3 picks ahead of time he would skip over the Lakers because he had no idea what they were doing.

With how Magic behaved with all of his chatter, to me it's a good sign going forward for this FO to lock up the ship.
