Devastating does not begin to describe the ramifications of reneging this deal would be for us. People forget because 14 years have past but the NBA doesn't forget that Rob Pelinka is THE agent who along with his client Carlos Boozer, reneged on a handshake deal with Cleveland in 2005. The first to do so I believe. Specifically CLE wavied their 700k option on Boozer so he could resign a new 6 year 41 mil deal with them which they had an agreement to do with him and agent Pelinka. Instead Rob & Carlos went with Utah who gave them 6years 68 mil. This was the first time a handshake deal was reneged on in the NBA as far as I know and it was our boy, Rob. If he does that on this deal he will not be able to GM for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs junior high hockey team. He will be a Walmart greeter at best.

Yeah, that’s not happening. But I have to believe he knows what he is doing regarding cap space. We’ll be fine.

    Bucks gm does work.

Also: big IF Conley stays healthy, he transforms Utah. Think I named them specifically last year as a team he'd help.

Quite a haul for mem, too. No hand-wringing, though...

Danny Ainge has no soul confirmed.

Btw, sure looks like Capela and his remaining 4yr deal could be cbag bound. And those are the type of contracts Ainge needs to deal for, cause no free agent is going to willingly sign long-term there.

Seriously. Cold blooded from Ainge. The dude WANTED to be there and opted IN with the intention of staying there...and now they're trying to dump him.

Typical Ainge...glad the summer from hell is continuing for the C Bags....I hope Rozier bolts too and then they'll have max cap room and STILL end up with nobody

If we fail to land Kawhi or Kyrie, I think our fall-back plan should be to go give D-Lo the max. We wouldn't have to clear more cap space to get him, we need a PG, and we need shooting. He is also very young and would grow alongside AD. He played well down the stretch in NJ. He still doesn't play any defense, but we have AD back there to erase a lot of his mistakes.

He's a restricted FA, but if Kyrie ends up going there, they won't match a max offer. I say we go after Kawhi hard, go after Kyrie hard, and if we get neither and Kyrie ends up in NJ, throw the max at D-Lo. We can't make him an official offer until July 6th anyhow, and we should know by then where Kawhi and Kyrie are going. It's a calculated risk that's worth taking, IMO.

Latest reports showing Brooklyn shying away from Kyrie now. I think Russell will get matched no matter what, they aren't letting him go.

Maybe Danny Ainge's overrated ability can get the C Bags good enough next year to get to the Finals so the Lakers can wipe the floor with them. That would be sooooo moist if that happened.

Now that you actually put it that way it really does feel so far away and there's no end in sight. Every night I tell myself I'm getting to bed by 1130 to get a full 8 hrs of sleep for my work day, and every night I stay up until 1230/1 refreshing LB and other sites and saying "why do I keep doing this to myself?"
