Again...the problem is what we PAID them. Had we paid all of those guys vet minimim deals (including KCP)...we would have had 30M to go after other guys that re bettter fits for the roster and then these guys become depth pieces for us...not starters playing meaningful minutes.

I think having those 3 guys (KCP Rondo McGee) as our 7th, 8th and 9th guys versus our 4th, 5th and 6th guys makes a BIG difference especially if we're paying them the minimum.

I believe the Lakers want Rondo back as a starter though, not a 7th or 8th man. And that is a problem, it’s a big problem. I’m not sure agree the problem was we paid too much for those guys either, doesn’t really matter what you pay a headcase, you sign a guy like Beasley and you can’t really be surprised when he starts going at it with the head coach, you bring in players that had us called the “meme team” and you get what you deserve. Don’t do it again, that’s all I’m asking, there are plenty of good players to be had for the minimum that aren’t headcases and a-holes.

At least Kyrie NOT coming means we can narrow our focus onto Kawhi, Butler and Kemba...in that order.

Man if KD didn't go down, or Klay didn't go down...I would have LOVED to have zeroed in on either of thsoe guys....ugh

Damn. Kawhi is a pipe, i had Kyrie or Jimmy at around 20% chance of coming here. Don't want Kemba, looks like we're be getting few "so so" players instead. Just no washed up headcases please.

I don’t want Rondo, but AD probably does from their Pelican days together.

Rondo is a beast when the playoffs come. If LeBron and AD want him, so be it. Nothing we can do.

I think our plan B if we strike out on Kawhi, Butler, Kyrie, and Kembas of the world, we should go after both D'Angelo Russell and Brook Lopez.

Then if you can get Seth Curry, Ariza and McGee with minimums

    Seth/Caruso
    Dlo/Ariza
    LeBron/Kuzma
    AD/Wagner
    Brook/McGee

I don’t think you can get Seth Curry with the minimum, I think this is finally his year to cash in as much as he’s ever going to be able. I’m not opposed to bringing back Russ either, but I don’t think he wants any part of it, but yes I’d love to have Lopez back, and Ariza if he’d take the minimum to ring chase. He might, considering he made 15 mil last season and he’s getting up there in age.

I can see Butler being all in on this Lakers Team..
His main complaint has been wanting to play with other Grown Men & Professionals that handle their business.
LeBron & AD check this box almost more than anyone in the League.

    Hmmm a rival huh?

Now hear me out (which means this is where I probably lose most of y'all haha)...

Morey was willing to trade 4 1sts last year for Butler... How many is he willing to throw at Cp3's deal to make it go away?

We just lost a bunch of draft capital in the AD trade, right?

If the Pels want to really get this deal done by the end of the FA moratorium, then we would need AD to waive his trade kicker to get about 27m in cap space.

Taking Cp3's 38m into space leaves about 11m that we need to send out for salary matching. Kuz/Moe/Bonga/JJ aggregate to about 7m... meaning they can bring back up to 12m in salary.

I call this the "Houston, we have a nuclear solution" plan.

Please allow me to at least turn my back and head the other way before hurling produce my way. I prefer Bella tomatoes, but I would never tell another person how to toss their salad (pause).

I was very much in favor of a "No Rondos" rule last time around, because I'd prefer to see every member of that godforsaken C Bags team buried under cement. My position has not changed.
