    2021 - Our pick if it’s 9-30
2022 - Unprotected need to be good if 2021 not sent

So even better. We have to give 2024 OR 2025 unprotected pick. Really not so bad.

Exactly the point I was trying to make and why I'm validated Rob (which got turned into an attack on Klutch) regardless of Klutch helping or hurting dealings with NO we gave up less than what was going down at the deadline (including picks which I heard rumored up to 4). Kuz fits our cap structure for a few years, no Solomon Hill contract means a 3rd max player which also means forget about the picks. We bring in another max star to pair with AD beyond this run with LBJ and we are good for a long while.

So, he’s better without Magic, that’s a given.

Gawd I hate the unreasonable Magic hate.

Trade for AD last year at the deadline and we salvage year 1 of Bron. That was the point.

But still, forget Solomon...if we traded the farm for AD and if we head into the summer pick-less and with only Bron & AD to our cap sheet, we would still be short of the 30% max. Magic bringing in Solomon or Rob going solo-man... Woulda made no difference in having a true max available to bring in the man.

If Magic really wanted AD at the deadline, he woulda forked over their pick capital for the foreseeable future...he didn't...no trade... And now thank to the heavens we got the 4th to flip for the real manna.

What I will be looking to going forward is whether Pelinka turns out to be as good as Kobe’s endorsement of him. If so, I can exhale. This is a great trade to build that resumé.

One of the joys of being a Lakers fan is that the Lakers front office usually managed to make great trades and made you feel that they were as formidable and deadly to opposing front offices as the teams they put on the floor. It’s starting to feel back to normal.

It's not "unreasonable Magic hate" to recognize that Magic was a bad POBO. He was.He was bad as a coach too. Doesn't diminish his legacy as one of the GOATS as a Lakers player.

He was not perfect as a Prez, but till him and Jeanie took over Buss & Mitch, free agents weren't trying to sign with us and stars agent trying to get traded to us. We gotta see how Kawhi goes, but AD demanded here and even that individual from Indy did as well. So at the very least Magic made us attractive again....and way too much had been made of his f*** ups and timecard in the office.

When you look through the max cap lens of the trade deadline where we fill Somonon vs the trade we made now... It doesn't matter if Solomon was our was not included in that deadline deal, cuz AD on our books to start the summer means we did not have a max slot.

If you want to say this trade is a huge win over the one at the deadline, then your can't ignore the luck of the 4th and you can't make such a determination till you see if it's an official July deal vs an official August, cuz only with the latter is it a complete win for Rob and us...till then...

    #TBD

And that's all I've been saying...along with Klutch gift wrapping AD to us...which also can't be ignored (see Cbags and Knicks not placing serious offers...whether thats damage control on their part or not, but it seems we bid against only ourselves and the #KlutchKillers helped us see to that).

Magic was disappointing in certain respects, but I always thought his presence would be positive. He got Lebron to come here to the extent that he mattered and that’s good enough for me. Kobe likely helped as well.

But at this point of the post AD trade, I’m not even mad at his trades because it all worked out. And what I respected about Mag/Pel trading is that they seem to send the guys to good situations instead of trying to screw anyone over. That’s a good look for the franchise.

They are drafting Randle on steroids. No need to keep Randle.

Magic sucking at his job isn't the issue. It's him going on TV next to two dildos like SAS and Kellerman and airing the dirty laundry. Family doesn't air out the dirty laundry to strangers. Magic's mouth is the issue, not his heart or his Laker playing days. He talks too much when he shouldn't have, that's why he left because he couldn't shut up about s*** that he wasn't suppose to talk about like training Ben Simmons. I mean, is Magic stupid? How is that not common sense? You can't train another player when you are apart of another team. Magic is just dumb sometimes.

Magic was imploring Jeanie to get a legit Prez 3 months ago. Masai is still available for the record.

But we sent plenty of draft compensation to the Pels instead of using it to compensate Toronto to steal that dude away.

Why should Rob get credit if the 2 max spots were etched out well in advance only to be compromised now?

I hope this is posturing, cause this doesn't look good at the moment and Tania has shown she's legit in her sources.
The AD trade looks that much better with a max spot..without it and it's not such a homerun.

I won't get getting excited until I see a decent roster. 2 players don't make a team. And neither do 3 if you run them into the ground and rely too heavily on them. ESPECIALLY a high mileage 35 year old.

Rob NOW has his work cut out for him. AD is on track to be an all time great though, and we basically gifted NO an entire starting lineup practically.

Add that to Zion, and they will actually be a fun team to watch next year. I would not doubt if they finish in front of us in the standings if we have a single injury to a key player.

I’m thrilled about this trade, I am, it needed to get done, it had to get done. The young guys couldn’t go through trade rumors all season again, we couldn’t waste LeBron’s time here, but this is indeed, not a good look

You realize this AFTER the fact and call back asking for them to accommodate? Why the hell would they? My only thinking is that Rob knew he needed to get this done at all costs, 3rd max or not, even if he had to try and do it after the fact.
