@myunibrodavis - I'm not sure. There isn't this degree of consensus w/in the Lakers internally, so either the leak is false or came from someone who values Kuzma highly. -Mr. Rambis
Seems to me, at least how I value our players, if this were a real offer it would be accepted immediately. You get to keep Ingram at the cost of Hart and a future first that would be in the 20’s because we’d be back in the playoffs? Done. Who is this guy though, I’ve seen his name multiple times over the season, he has a blue check mark, yet he doesn’t seem to have any real credibility I can find.
People have got to stop valuing Kuz on the the same (play-ability only) standard BI and Zo are. It's not hard to say BI or Zo have a higher upside than Kuz but Kuz is valued so highly by us due to his contract. He fits financially into the scheme of things here going forward (2 mil next year 3.5 the following). Zo and BI total 16 mil next year and BI will get a big payday in summer '20. Kuz fits into the 3rd max-guy plan. The fact he's a tall shooter with fast feet is nice too.
Same here. I thought Ingram would be the most coveted piece from our core. They want Kuz instead of Ingram? LOL be my guest. Lonzo fits better but Lil Durant + AD ain't too shabby either.
That is also how I value our young core. I will take this counter offer right away if I’m the gm. However, I don’t know how trustful this reporter is, either. I saw this on reddit
BI punched CP2. He shoved Harden. He plays D. No way I’m getting rid of that dude. His momma raised him right.
I would keep Ingram in a heartbeat LMFAO. Who cares if he needs to get paid. By the time he gets that Max he's gonna be one of the premier wing stoppers in the league. He's all Defensive team caliber. The primary wing defender role is gonna be the hardest one to fill after this move.
The only thing that I can see why Ingram wouldn’t be the centerpiece is because of the concern over health with the blood clots.
i was thinking the same thing... they are already getting a good deal here, so skip all the hypotheticals and take kuzma... again, they're already making out like bandits...
It’s a win win trade right now, but after last year I’m ok with a Win Lose deal in our favor. Nick forgives ya’all too
pretty sure this is all bs, and ingram is the centerpiece in our offer, and he isn't negotiable. as for paying him--once you have davis in the fold, you better be planning to operate over the cap for the next 2-3 years, anyway, so paying ingram is no big deal. paying ingram is only a problem if you want to keep being a player in FA. when you have davis and lebron, you shouldn't need to be a player in FA. i don't agree on his defense, though. he looks like he could be a great defender, but he is not currently.
I’d say he’s shown flashes. Kyries comments about his defense on him were high praise. I agree that this rumor has to be bs. Keeping Ingram should have been to counter offer Lakers accept.
That's why I said by the time he gets paid. He's still 2 off-seasons away from developing the core strength to be a shutdown guy on that end. His length, footwork, and anticipation however are already there.
I learned today that if the AD deal closes, the Lakers can drop this potential mgmt consulting affair off their income statement. It'll pretty much confirm LeBron will be in the playoffs as AD can hopefully carry the ship even if LeBron gets injured again, so no more pressure to shape up. I actually am unhappy about this, since based on what I've seen, there needs to be a major reorganization in the front office. And honestly, it starts with Kurt Rambis getting moved out of his current role, where he is blocking guys from accessing upper level management unless he "likes" them. -Mr. Rambis
This is sports not a business meeting. You can't confirm s*** in sports. See the Golden State Warriors the last month.
