big rule of FA: the most sought-after FAs tend to stay. ESPECIALLY if their current team is a) good and b) capped out.

If the Pelicans want BI, Kuz, Zo and #4, aren't they literally asking for MORE than we offered at the deadline?

Actually no, at the deadline Magic reportedly offered the friggin house

“The Los Angeles Times' Broderick Turner reported Tuesday the Lakers had put Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, Ivica Zubac, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and a pair of first-round draft picks on the table”

kcp had no value n obviously zubac was dumped...id say zo,kuz,bi +#4 instead of 2 1st is actually more than that deadline offer

That's kinda how I feel but it's debatable. Reasonable minds can disagree on that.

Well, Zu being dumped doesn’t mean he had no value, it means the Lakers did something stupid. But yes, I guess I’m operating under the assumption that the multiple firsts still includes the 4th pick, which isn’t likely if David had been a Laker at the deadline. I would still say the trades are about even though, or maybe still higher at the deadline because it was rumored they wanted like 2 firsts and 3-4 seconds. I don’t see that being thrown out there now, it seems to be Zo, BI, Kuz, and the #4 or a better established player the #4 can get.

Was hoping he was going Klutch. But this locks him in with the Nets.

    Also, speaking of Kyrie

Damn, I was hoping for Klutch, he’s definitely gonna be a Net.

Kinda never wanted kyrie, tbh. I’m mean, He’s a godsend compared to striking out, but he’s one of the last on my list.

    that's a weird lady list.

    anyway...

i wanted kyrie only because we need people who can play basketball, not because he's my ideal choice. i find it odd just how badly bkn wants him, actually--though i could see them building around him like houston did harden and turning him into that kind of offensive centerpiece. he's as talented as harden, for sure, just has never had that kind of roster construction nor that kind of green light.

he wouldn't get it here, though.

Kyrie was better than nothing but I’m not upset he’s heading to Brooklyn. Watching Boston fall will be joyous for me.

Beyond that, I want to see us build a true team with guys who want to be here. I don’t think that label would ever really fit Kyrie.
