This is what I see. Especially the Wiggins comparison.

Right. We've struggled to make trades for years.

In a way, we have Russ and Randle to thank for anyone considering our guys now as teams can point to our incompetence as the reason for our guys struggling and see the potential of our players.

randle n russ certainly did not look like that here. they showed flashes, randle added more 3pt shooting, russ got a little more consistent albeit with a higher usage rate

only thing Wiggins ever improved on was scoring more pts, BI has shown alot more than that

Everybody was bitc**** before we drafted Russell; they wanted Jahil f***** Okafor. And now, everybody is a Russ fan. Give me a break.

Now: everybody is a BI fan, a Randle fan, etc.

I can't wait until we start winning again - I'm so tired of overrating our youth and debating who we shouldn't trade. Just give me a winning product that I can watch every night, please.

did you watch them last year? same guys. more opportunity. randle didn't help NO win, just like he didn't help us win and probably won't help anyone win until he's a 20-25mpg backup.

then why isnt this cant help win stuff not applicable to AD? n randle was not the same, his jump shot was much improved, less offensive foul as well, pelicans didnt win cause ad quit on them n of course he got injured early in the season as well

    This!

Say it with me folks...high usage = player development. Before anyone talks on proper player development, go check out the league leaders in usage rate for players under the age of 25.

Put Zo, BI and Kuz on teams where they control the ball at a rate of 30-35% and see their "development".

Did Zu "develop" in the playoffs this year? I'm sure the exposure helped, but were his numbers reflective of how he was used by a pretty decent coach in Doc Rivers?

Now its a whole other discussion to see if it's Byron's/Luke's fault that they didn't use our youth properly while they were here...but make no mistake about it, potential is only realized through opportunity.

Look at the dubs...you tend to forget that any of their guys can go off at any time, but equal opportunity through their system waters down their individual numbers. Is their "development" stunted by that system/roster?

If a kid has potential, they will put up numbers when given more opportunity. But are those numbers really pushing their team's success? DLo deservedly got love this year cause his high usage led to his team's playoff berth. But did BK offer him an extension? Did BK make him a priority over free agency? Is their FO trash for not doing such?

Our FO deserves some lumps...no doubt. But some of y'all are using double standards and flip flopping way the f*** out. Our kiddies is trash...and now it's our kiddies will develop into stars so let's pass on the known star that is AD. Wow, some of y'all slide into these narratives ignoring the previous flags y'all already planted.

    I should expect it tho, cause summer's here...it's #FlipFlopSeason

i've been consistent on kids from way back: don't trade them for cap space. do trade them for stars.

I know you've been consistent Abeer.. My comments ain't @ you at all.

But I do disagree with the cap thing. If you can get off 50m in ineffective salary and have that available for Bron plus a running mate...you take that deal, cause you don't know if that deal will be available later. Trading for cap space led to Bron. We could have stretched MozDeng, but that means it's Bron and the kids. We have the option of having Bron/kids, Bron/2ndmax/kids, Bron/AD/roster filler or Bron/2ndmax/AD.

We gave up on Bron/DLo/Jules/rest of kids sans Hart or Kuz for all those options...I'll take that exchange any day.

But I'm with you Abeer in that you trade potential stars in the kids for a known star 11 out of 10 times.

I am in agreement that you trade kids for stars, especially after the PG13 backfire. But I'm still with abeer. The Lakers didn't need to make the salary dump deal then. They could have made that deal later, even if they have to throw in an extra pick.

No use crying over it now though. We will sign Kawhi and trade for AD and all will be well in Lakerland with a starting five of AD/Lebron/Kuzma/Kawhi/Beverly.

Yeah no need for a rehash, but George was a backfire? Can't even get out the first round with a MVP and Aquaman. Naw, that individual lacks fire..

Btw, dumping 3yrs 50m using a (at the time) distressed 2nd overall pick and still getting a 1st rounder (Kuz) out of it is vastly different than trading an expiring contract and using 2 first round picks to do so.

DLo was injured his first season in BK...had that happened in LA instead, would BK still be willing to take dude who was heading into a RFA season along with Moz's 2yr 33m remaining? You can't sit on a 2yr deal and expect not to pay a premium heading into a summer where Bron is linked to you. It would have been more than just throwing an extra pick at it.

Anyways, I agree tho...no use in bawling over it now.

We got Bron, we got a max slot and we're linked to AD.

When I was little I didn’t care about our draft picks.

1000%. You have to be extremely lucky to build from within and win titles. Hell, it's actually plausible that the Warriors would be one time champs unless they added the big fish from another team, and they're the best run team in the league and drafted a team that won 73 games.
