No way. Jalen Rose went on record twice and said, "his workouts didn't go well...", so if that's true, that's even more negligence on behalf of the Warriors organization.

    Very very incompetent...

Yeah i suspect it was an achilles injury all along but they didnt want to label it as so because of future contract reasons.

I keep thinking about that strange presser from Meyers.... "blame me, i'ts unfair", then the crying with no tears.. super quick to say the medical team was thorough. That's a lot of guilt for someone who didn't do anything wrong.

Definitely look like an achilles injury from the way he was grabbing his leg. Looked a little promising that he was able to walk off the court without a lot of limping and then same with the crutch leaving the building. Gonna be a lot of questions for GSW's medical staff and maybe some finger pointing going around too.

He should definitely exercise that player option, spend the year resting up and then become a FA 2020. Throws a wrench into a lot of free agency plans though. Does Kyrie still leave, always rumors about them too teaming up. Does NY still throw the max at KD? Do they still target AD, were hoping on selling AD a teaming up with KD/Kyrie. Back to the drawing board for everyone.

Damn, that’s bad. He should not explore free agency at this point. And the Warriors owe him anyway.

It will be interesting to see how KD’s injury (if torn achilles) changes this summers free agency. This could change some players plans.

Damn, always sad to see someone go down.
He should have never played after the first injury. Who in their right mind, steps on to the court knowing their achilles is f***ed? Free agency got even more complicated and exciting at the same time...

I think this absolutely changes free agency a little. Unless he was planning to go to NY or Brooklyn with Kyrie, I can see either of those teams still giving him max. Though if it’s that serious does that change whether Kyrie wants to wait a year for him to return? Does he stay now and collect that 30 mil while recovering on the Warriors dime, then hit free agency as THE big name in 2020? I guess it depends how serious the injury is, man I’m still shocked he played on that leg if he wasn’t close to 100% and that the doctors allowed it. Windhorst said on SportsCenter that the team doctors looked ashen-faced when he walked back to the locker room, like it was a funeral.

NYK lost big time, even if it was just fantasy all along...meanwhile in L.A., a veteran bull awaits for next season, rested and ready to tear the League a new one.

    So....

If KD did opt out because of frustrations with how the Warriors mishandled this, would anyone want the Lakers to offer him the full max contract if he’s willing to accept? Year 1 would be a wash but he could still come back productive in year 2...

When I saw his ankle wrapped when he was waiting for the guys after the games, I was wondering why was his ankle wrapped instead of the calf. Did he really have a mild tear in his Achilles? And if so, who ever cleared him to play should be fired and lose whatever license they have to do medicine.

If this is true than both KD and GSW are beyond stupid. Why play? He got butthurt reading twitter? d******.
This changes things for sure. Hope Boston is not back in the AD sweepstakes...

    Would LeBron want that? Doubtful.

I’d take Durant on a Cousins type deal :Brows:

KD would not make it back in time barely for the playoffs like Cousins though. His injury and start of the rehab cycle was a couple months earlier. Completely lost year I bet.

If KD opts-in, how does that affect the Warriors dealing with Klay and Green? That's a lot of money.

They have the Bird rights to Klay and Green so can still go above the cap to re-sign them. Though it don't make sense paying tons of luxury taxes if their dynasty is coming to an end.

He admitted guilt the second he stepped on the podium .

Since when GMs are talking about players injuries in post game press conferences ????

i'm surprised at how much this annoys me, actually. just totally unnecessary loss of a marquee player. reminds me of grant hill. it's everybody's loss.

not to mention the consequences it could have for other teams--us in particular. does kyrie stay now? if so, we're pretty much screwed. houston's probably having a parade right now.

i get that you don't get many title shots--and kd knows that--still, contrary to reports the chance obviously DID exist for an achilles tear. reckless to allow him to play. i wonder if silver will have something to say about this. i know the player's union will. lots of heads could roll and policies could change.
