For instance, I could never maintain focus long enough to pretend to be Mr Rambis without slipping up.
But if you summarize main points for me, I can save hours a day. Besides, they basically have no new info. They are just Uber fans flapping their gums.
That was a real, great heart to heart breakdown Pete gave us at the end of the latest podcast with Darius where he explains how he was basically on his death bed and folks weren't sure he would make it. The stuff he's preaching about getting your stuff checked out is so important.
Happy to see he's doing well now after that. Is this for real .... he hates Pau? Pau's one of the best dudes and guys to ever wear the uniform.
No, it’s a joke. These guys mess with eachother and joke they’re going to take their statements out of context all the time and use them as soundbites or tweets. Pete does not highly value bigs in the modern NBA, because they need to be fed the ball to be effective, most can’t go get their own shot or don’t create shots for others. He said only bigs like Jokic are different today because they’re like 7-foot point guards. What Pete did say in that podcast was that he thinks because of all those factors that Anthony Davis is a “little bit overrated”, and that he’s probably better suited for a #2 role. He equated Davis to Pau in that way, saying if you pair him with LeBron “Pau Gasol style” like we did with Kobe, you can maximize his value. He then said he thinks AD is better than Pau was as much as he loves Pau (I agree, AD is a better 2 way player at this point of their careers) and Anthony jokingly said “how dare you”, so of course Anthony made the headline for the show ‘Pete hates Pau’. He said no such thing, they were messing around.
Locked On Lakers: first one in while, Anthony has sick. “Pete and I discuss the way we talk about athlete injuries, then segue over to the latest on Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and more. Oh, and we laugh a little at Danny Ainge. Because that's always fun.” Silver Screen & Roll: David Griffin reportedly wants to get an Anthony Davis trade done before next week's draft. What does the market look like for Davis in June and how will the Lakers compete? Christian Rivas and Grant Goldberg discuss
Silver Screen & Roll: Alex Padilla and Alex Regla talk about the report that says the Lakers are he favorites to land Anthony Davis. The Lakers are also reportedly not favorites to land any other big free agent so it's do or die with Anthony
Locked on Lakers: 6/13 Mailbag - With the NBA world going insane, I opened up the mailbag to answer your questions and update everyone on the latest surrounding Anthony Davis and the Lakers
Locked on Lakers: Following an insane NBA Finals, Pete and I, well, have fun talking about good basketball. Then, we discuss what all can happen between now and next season that could put the Lakers in a spot where we get to talk about good *Lakers* basketball. Oh, and we fight over Kyle Kuzma. Silver Screen & Roll: What happens with Kawhi after the Raptors win the championship and what is holding up the Anthony Davis deal? In this episode, Alex Regla and Jas Kang breakdown the Raptors championship and what it means for Kawhi Leonard's pending free agency.
Sweeeet, I bet Pete is thrilled despite us having to give up a good amount of pieces. I know Irwin already called this a rare win for both teams involved.
I'm planning on listening to the podcast tomorrow during my 9 hour drive but from the tweets I've read of Pete he definitely thinks we gave up too much but is waiting, reserving judgment till we know who we get during free agency as we all should.
Locked on Lakers: 6/17 - Despite Anthony Davis trade, we can't have nice things; plus mailbag “If you love deep-level cap talk, then this is the show for you. Rob Pelinka might have acquired Anthony Davis, but he might have really screwed up a huge detail. Pete and I discuss that, then open up the mailbag” Silver Screen & Roll: The Lakers traded for Anthony Davis, but can they sign another star? It's complicated “Our long national nightmare is over, because the Lakers finally traded for Anthony Davis. Joining host Harrison Faigen to break it all down is Jeff Siegel (@jgsiegel) of earlybirdrights.com, and they talked about how much the Lakers gave up, how the timing of the deal probably eliminates the Lakers from being able to sign another max free agent, and why it was still probably the right path for the team to take.”
