Looks as if Kyrie is Brooklyn bound and will be all in on KD. If KD opts for Brooklyn, Knicks will mortgage the farm for AD and incite a bidding war between NYK and the Lakers. Possibly even both to make additional trades to Atl for picks to sweeten the deal (Dang ....I hope Rob does not play that game). LeBron, AD and the Merrymen

If Kyrie and KD go to the Nets, Stephen A said Knicks and Kemba would be a thing. I'm hoping they settle on Kemba and Boogie (biggest name they would have a chance at and overpaying would guarantee him there). Then we can get AD and Butler. Knicks will definitely try, but I don't think their offer is nearly good enough and AD's camp needs to make his desired decision known.

That wasn't my ideal off season, but it is seeming like our best case scenario at this point.

It will definitely be a busy, chaotic, and hopefully exciting next 3.5 weeks.

It certainly will be JSM. I do think that Knicks will be all in on AD. They'd have a hard time with their base with basically sending Porzingas out to bring just Kemba and RJ Barret in. Open markets are fascinating, howeverI think the only true max players available are Khawi and K.D. Personally, I'd put Klay, Kyrie and AD below that tier and Jimmie, Beal and Kemba below them. Additionaly, I value Zo, BI, with the 4th. pick over anything other that Khawi or KD. Due to our cap, we can get a Max or Tier II/III without losing any of our prime assets.

Wilkes: if Knicks strike out in free agency (Kyrie and/or KD), what incentive does AD have in sticking around? He'll just opt out in 2020. We got the Bron/Klutch card and we better play that hand, cause no other team has it. So let the Knicks go all-in on AD if they strike out in free agency...I'd like to see how far they get up the Hudson River on that bet.

The data shows us that OKC had Russ for George to stick around...Raps have Lowry/Gasol/Finals bid for Kawhi to potentially stick around. Knicks...what do they have?

That’s the key for the Knicks, pairing up Kemba with AD. Your right, without another star AD balks, and even though I’d prefer a different direction, we’d be the destination.

......New York Knickerbockers, They can offer 3rd, Robinson, DJS, and Knox. Key is Robinson, who we should have drafted. Big who showed a lot of potential and NO needs a Center with AD gone. It is a competitive offer as we have no big to offer.

Agree completely. I think it actually might be our best option. Our kids are going to blow up.

I wouldn’t either Khrmp, but Robinson makes it interesting. Recorded a near 20/20 this year as rookie and also had 9 blocks in one game. Should have been wearing Purple and Gold.

i could write several pages on just how bad bkn dumping crabbe (while picking up a useful player) for only the #17 on the eve of FA makes us look. that they hold the rights on one of the most coveted RFAs on the market (because we felt the need to dump our crabbe 2 years early) as a fallback option for failing in FA is extra salt.

    so much f***ing salt.

I won’t argue against this at all, but I still think Paul George not even giving us a meeting is what really screwed us. They seemed like their entire plan was to get George and LeBron at one time and that simply failed.

    Small Update on Kyrie:

I was asked today by AEG to wind down my contributions to the Kyrie pitch this summer. I was mostly helping outline potential partnership opportunities, which I was then going to pass onto the finance guys to make income projections. I was told there's a higher priority item that I'm needed on and that I will know details on Monday.

Great point @Weezy ! But I'm not 100% sure the Lakers were banking on Paul George at that point. After the trade fell through and the NBA got involved due to tampering, my sense was that the Lakers knew Paul George was not a likely acquisition. The NBA is pretty strict about these sorts of things.

There was small hope that Adam Silver would reconsider closer to the start of free agency last year, but that did not materialize.
