that's what they said about kg (who is basically AD's career doppelganger) and pau, too. it sucks being stuck in poorly-run, go-nowhere franchises. ask lebron, lol.
If that’s your standard then you should have no issues parting with any of our guys who have accomplished much much less in the same period of time.
So we should only look at superstars who have "won" at the NBA level and are on the market (either via trade or FA)? That is a very short list, like Irving, Thompson, Durant and Leonard is pretty much it and we're not likely getting any of them.
You guys forget that Pau Gasol NEVER won a playoff game before joining the Lakers? Wasn't because Pau wasn't impactful, he just never got the help in a competitive West. Same can be said for AD. The guy is a superstar, he's never played next to one except maybe for Boogie who went down. A second star takes the load and attention off of him, and he can focus on dominating.
stat stars maybe, those 2 guys dont do much winning either, kyrie prior to lebron was just like walker, perenial lotto team in the weak east....true is a star he just dont get the looks cause he doesnt score the ball at those 2 guys clip but he actually plays D at a legitimate 2nd/3rd team lvl
There is a very long list of stars and superstars that played for small market or inept organizations, got traded to/ signed with well run teams and won titles. AD very likley will be another one, unless he ends up with the Knicks.
Touche, you make a good point, but that was more the exception than the rule. A combo of AD/ LBJ, maybe one 2nd tier FA star plus some young talent would be very competitive for a couple of years, and beyond that AD will attract talent on his own ... provided we get our own back office sorted out.
Actually I believe it was Davis 3rd or4th year. This your position not mine. I think anyone with eyes can see Davis is talented and can help us in several ways. I’m not really sure why you’d even argue this honestly.
so to add then, if kg/pau are the metrics for these "stars' that didnt win much, then is it wrong to think ad trade vue should only be a notch or 2 above what pau/kg ultimately got traded for, the notch part being that AD is younger
super star = lebron, ad is a star till he can show he can win consistently with whatever circumstances hes dealt with and if that time frame your referring to as far as getting into the playoffs, it took ad 4th yr to make it, ingram is bout to enter 4th yr then
