Hey, at least the discussion is centralized here and not everywhere else.

    That is progress.

No Lue..uh, no lie, that's the same face we made when Rob had to excuse himself from the dinner table again to take another leak, and then surprise surprise, the bill conveniently came at that time. Seriously how it all came out to 500k, we don't know. By george, we'll never visit that Paula Deen restaurant ever again. We were all stuck on our tamperpedics for what seemed like a year after that outing.

Okay, I'll see myself out now....and shhh don't tell Jeanie. I'll tweet to her about it later.

    Hi @vasashi17 !

I find it admirable how you "stick to your guns" and support Magic through everything! I recognize that although many disagree, you have the right to your reasonings and opinions without needing to justify them to anyone else. Plus, you bring up a lot of valid points. Keep it up!

I have a feeling, we'll be seeing Jeff Goldblum a lot...

Same face I made when you proposed to trade BI for anybody other than Kawhi or AD.

If we get Kawhi, we would have 4 dudes who's natural position is small forward. As it stand now we have 3. Beal is the perfect compliment to Lebron with his catch and shoot ability plus he can create for himself. He's also only 25. I'm not sure why trading a player in a spot of obvious redundancy to get a young all-star shooting guard is baffling.

And I used the Goldblum gif not because I disagree with you, but because I literally have no clue what in the blue hell you are talking about.

I really hope the attachment to the young guys no matter what ends this summer. Not wanting to trade them for proven young All Star talent doesn't make much sense to me.

We need to get back to putting a winning product on the floor to push some of the not so behind the scenes drama to the background. We shouldn't be turning our noses up at any All Star talent in my mind, particularly guys like Beal who are young, talented, fill a need, etc.

You didn't pick up on the chiding undertones of our FO. It seems to be all the rage around here this year. I guess I must be doing it wrong.

Kinda like undervaluing our assets and selling too low and too prematurely. For all the noise DLo caused to make room for Bron, how can you trade BI (who imo is a far valuable asset/player) for a fringe Allstar in Beal (is he all-star material out West? Not sure he is)

BI can also play the 2, cause positionless basketball.

Also Beal is eligible for the supermax and his fate will be decided today if he makes an all-nba team. If he makes it on and the Wiz don't offer a supermax extension, then they're probably looking to trade him. If they offer it and he declines, hrs likely to want out of Washington. So leverage in any trade talks is in our favor if we wait.

Also if we had traded BI for Beal already, then one of Griff's trade targets is now gone in an AD deal.

Don't sell too quick on the "right" youth...Beal is a contingency plan, nothing more. He's (fools)Goldblum.

And I seriously don't know why I waste my references on yall haha. R. Pelly and his manna showers are gold y'all...

So Beal didn't make it...what does that mean for our chances of trading for him?

What is that a 9 or 11? Either it's TIME for an appt with the optometrist or Woj's Laker hate is starting to blind us all.

Klay & Beal are out the supermax sweepstakes while Dame and Kemba are now eligible for it. Charlotte now has the one up on the field in giving Kemba that big bag.

As for Beal as a trade target, there is no added incentive to stay in Washington now. The supermax is still in play for him next summer (if he stays a Wiz) but now there's no real leverage gained by a trade partner in trading for Beal. He's still a 2yr deal and blows up any chance at us clearing space in 2020 to make room for AD as an UFA.

Unless AD gets traded to NY, it's a hard pass for me to trade BI for Beal. I would entertain a trade that spares BI tho. (Btw, I understand that BI is up for an extension this summer and next summer in 2020 will be a RFA, but until the possibility of AD is exhausted, I'm holding on to the kid).

Yeah I kind of agree but we can't obtain Beal without giving up Ingram at the very least (this is assuming that we get another superstar..obviously if we don't get another superstar via free agency, I'm open to trading the 4th pick straight up for Beal and keeping everyone else).

    McGee
    LeBron
    Ingram
    Beal
    Ball

I agree with this. My desire for Beal is mostly dependent on us getting a second star via free agency. If we sign Kawhi, try to trade Ingram and one other asset for Beal.

Not saying I would trade Ingram for Beal...

but Beal averaged 26/5/6 or something like that this year...he also played 82 games. His 3 point shot wasn't great at 35% but there aren't many 2 guards better than him...I think there aren't a handful of SGs better than him in the NBA.

Ingram is much younger, cheaper and has a higher ceiling but Beal is a better player right now, without any question.

Ingram's final stretch was very promising before he got hurt so if he continues to be on fire like that...things might change.

I don't think Beal has a shot to keep up those numbers with a legit player like LeBron and I don't think he is good enough to be a robin to a batman on a championship team.

Beal is 25, Ingram bout to be 22, 3yrs isn't a big deal and $ wise Ingram bout to get his next off-season, Ingram shows flashes but he too is injury prone and still a ? from 3pt range

Ingram's defense must be considered too. Especially playing next to Lebron.

As for the injury concerns, check out how many games Beal missed his first 4 years. That's part of the maturation process. We developed Ingram for 3 years and he's just about to hit his stride. It's like deja vu with the same mistake over and over. We're not a farm for other teams.
