Oh look, Lowry and Favors both have 1 yr remaining on their deals that expire before the summer of 2020....when AD can walk into that space...and our kiddies won't "waste" another yr of Bron.

Fam, like JSJ said in another thread, proceed into #PosturinSeason with caution.

The more I think about it, I’m only trading Lonzo and/or Ingram for a legit star not someone like Beal. I’d trade #4 with kuz for a guy like Beal though. If we get a top FA or even butler who I consider an A- FA, and round out the roster with smart shooters in FA we’re right there contending.

Heck if we get no top FAs and AD goes to NY where he’ll resign, we can still be contenders with Lebron and our kids if we sign a couple B+ FAs.

I really don’t think you can make such sweeping statements as fact. That may be how most fans of other teams see him, but actual NBA teams have scouts, GMs, PBOs that watch film on players, look at analytics, etc, and I’m pretty sure there are a number of teams that see great potential in Zo. It was rumored NO wanted him in any AD trade package to pair with Holiday, the Suns have been rumored to want him, there are plenty of smart basketball minds out there that see the bigger picture on a player than some bad injury luck and his loudmouth father, especially since Zo has recently begun to distance himself from his father being part of his career.

First part, again, your opinion. You aren’t a fan of Zo, I get that, but many basketball people are, he has serious natural talent, he just has holes to fix. Second part, we have no proof that’s how things went down, and if it was it didn’t seem to have to do with the players we offered so much as NO being extremely pissed at Klutch and AD for trying to pull that stunt right before the deadline.

There's enough evidence, as in advanced metrics, which supports the fact that we are a better team with Lonzo on the court. I'm not sure how you can argue against that.

    Hey guys,
I will say around the league, based on what I've heard regarding Lakers trade discussions, Lonzo is the most valuable young piece the Lakers have. Ingram is currently "injured" and is going to be an RFA next summer, which lowers his value a lot. Kuzma is penalized due to his age. None of this may matter in the long run, but that is the landscape of the league right now.

Deadline deal for AD didn't happen because 1) Gayle didn't want to seem like a pushover to Klutch & Lakers and 2) Saint mgmt had already decided to let Demps go and wanted the new GM to make a major franchise decision.

But AD wants to be a PF, in that lineup doesn’t have the length to deal with a team like the Milwaukee Bucks.

advanced metric said Tatum would be a sure fire super star his rookie yr, advanced metrics says ingram is a bad team player, kuzma is one of the worse pf defensively in the league....advance metrics can say bunch of stuff... no i cant argue zo has positive advance metrics on the team, what i can argue is he avg 1airball a gm, played less than 100 gms in 2 season, poor shooter, poor finisher, won't go to rack due to fear of going to the line where he shoots a whooping 45% from the line

Beal is a star though. Statistically, he is a bonafide star and is only 25. He also probably fits next to Lebron better than AD. Not saying I'd want Beal more than AD. But pure fit...Beal is a great fit next to Lebron. He can catch and shoot as well as create off the dribble. If we're really looking to make the best team, it's probably sign Kawhi, trade Ingram, Kuz, and #4 for Beal. A core of Lonzo/Beal/Kawhi/Lebron fits together so nicely.

Oh we'll try some plan to force Milwaukee to trade him next summer probably as well.

Amico is off on Ingram's extension time frame a year late lumping him in with Ball, Kuzma and Hart.
