    Hi @Weezy !

thanks for the joke and the support! I apologize for not even asking you (how rude of me!), as a staff member, to just let me know if anything I'm doing is out of line. I see I am getting a lot of questions but I don't want to disturb the ecosystem you and the rest of the staff work so hard to maintain, and take away from the primary basketball discussions! Thanks again for all your effort in keeping up this website. Please let me know if I need to scale back! :)

    Best,
    Mr. Rambis

That just sounds so messed up regarding Kidd and Vogel. Hard to believe that it's true. As Kobe said about floppers, where's their balls? Where are Vogel's to be pushed aside already. I got to be skeptical here and hope that's not accurate.

Since the FO has gone silent, folks are starving to eat anything up.

Meanwhile, I'll just let y'all ravage up the "info" and take the foil off my head to wrap up any leftover pieces that I may or may not consume later.

You are not ruining the ecosystem. I think all of us are grown up enough to take everything any "insider" says with a grain of salt. If nothing else, it gives us something else to read/listen to other than all the talking heads blustering.

I thought you said earlier it was unlikely we were keeping our pick. I don’t much think it matters much either way, but those are pretty different takes on the same subject.

What a terrible way to do business if true. Apparently JKidd is quite the salesman though. Too bad his results don’t support his enthusiastic selling of his abilities.

Hey there @RonStu ! You're a pretty sharp fellow with that memory of yours! Yes, you are right about what I said, and it is true. I've just started learning this multi-quote feature so let me see if I can put that to use :)

That is what I wrote earlier. While Joey has been in touch with Kidd about who to draft, there is the underlying assumption our pick will be traded. Nonetheless, there have not been any official trade talks (as far as I know/have read), so Joey still needs to do his job and at the very least, get started with thinking about who fits into the Lakers' coaching staff plan the best for this upcoming season.

You bet! Many places, but first call of the day is with a team in India. And no, no juicy secrets coming out of this one!

There has been conflicting reports about Vogel and who exactly is behind the hiring; Windhorst intimated (probably by sources) Pelinka; Pincus had a source say ot was Rambis.

I've heard you say Rambis liked Hollins, and he was friends with Hollins; the potential addition of what could have been a Hollins would seemingly give Kurt more power in the Front Office, correct. Woj also said that Rambis liked Hollins.

Organization dysfunction at its finest. So, where are we now? Who got "their" pick in? Does it matter? I mean: I think we can all deduce Kidd being the coach sooner rather than later, IMO.

    Just spit balling...:)

Hey @LaVarBallsDad ! I like your username first off! But unlike Lavar Ball, you are quite astute!

What you said is absolutely right! I have explained in more detail prior, but essentially, Kurt was rising to power by creating a lot of uncertainty. This caused the front office to wait to pass up on Williams, and then, he started pushing Jason Kidd a lot more, as one of his many strategies to essentially "sabotage" the hiring. This led the Lakers to low ball with the 3 year offer. After Lue backed out, Kurt started gunning for Hollins. But, his previous words, combined with Phil's input, were at the forefront of Rob and Jeanie's minds, and they used this as a rationale to push Kidd and Vogel as the new duo. They liked Kidd the most, but Vogel was also well regarded. They thought it was a 2/1 steal, with a solid backup in Kidd, who would have more time to grow into a head coach by being an assistant. They also felt it would be a good start in making a 180 from the weak staff Luke had, which had a lot of negative press associated with it, especially by the end. Ultimately, the reports you are hearing that Kurt had a strong influence, are correct, but in an indirect way, as his big plan backfired to some degree. He is currently trying to play politics to assume more control in the front office, but there are some roadblocks given his amateur tactics. Linda recognizes he will likely never have the official title for optics reasons, but Kurt is primarily after the power. Let's see how far he gets, but he has some obstacles in his path.

    Mr. Rambis,

While I don't want to take away from the serious concerns of this thread, I was wondering if you know if the Lakers will get a black uniform again..and being a UCLA Bruin, would UCLA Health be considered as a patch sponsor instead of Wish? Anyone else coming instead of Wish? I have an affinity for sports jerseys. The current sponsorship is a bother tbh

    Hi @ShaqFu !

Great question. If I remember correctly, the Wish deal was for 3 years so we have 1 more year left. The amount of revenue isn't significant compared to others lines of endorsement business (less than $20MM/fiscal yr discounted, but don't quote me on that) and could potentially have been higher so AEG and the Lakers will re evaluate next year. There are some preliminary discussions about extending the Staples center deal too, and I'd imagine that may factor into it from a revenue perspective. The Warriors dealings with Chase Center were fairly eye opening on the amount of $$ lost out, but the real estate portfolios of AEG and the Lakers are much different so it's not an apples to apples comparison.

I am not sure UCLA Health would pony up the cash necessary, since they've already partnered in the new training facilities. If anything, they'd want to raise money at this point. But that is just my personal opinion.

No idea about the black jerseys. Don't think anyone I work with would have that answer, either.

With Kurt now running things, Pornhub is a legit option for our jerseys.

It's a joke in reference to when Kurt "liked" a porn tweet.
